In many parts of the US, the winter means freezing temperatures, snow, and ice, but in LA we continue to have pretty balmy weather, but with a smattering of stormy weather that allows for some lushness to creep back into the barren landscape.  People here are used to the sun and the warmth and wouldn't even think to hike in the middle of a rainstorm, as doable as it is.  All this makes winter my favorite time to hike the trails around Los Angeles - they feel alive with moisture, and yet they are mostly devoid of other people.

Perfect time to explore with the intent of taking photos.  Thankfully some of my friends are adventurous and willing to brave slightly colder temps and the wetness to have a mountain canyon to ourselves.  This week, during the first winter storm of the season, Rachel (a self-professed "city girl") came along with me - it was her first time modeling nude out in nature and the longest hike she had ever done.  She surprised herself with how easily she handled all of it, and surprised me with how much the camera loves her (not to mention her amazing figure - i had never really thought about her without clothes and was totally caught off guard by it to be honest. Its kind of a wonderful feeling to have a bit of unexpected discovery in today's world).

More images from the little bit of shooting we did before the rain got too intense coming for my patrons this week.
