Greetings,

Today, I'd like to revisit the subject of self-sacrifice. A subject I haven't gone into depth with since "The Crystal Empire." However, where "The Crystal Empire" was about dedicating time to helping friends or rushing towards danger to help get others to safety - "Made In Manehattan" tackled something much more commonplace.

This episode showed that a little bit of help can have a big impact. It showed how that impact can be the start of something great. It showed the importance of scaling back from over ambition and working with what resources you have at your disposal. It also showed what you can be capable of if you're fully dedicated to your cause.

There's a lot we can do to help make our neighborhoods a better place. A point I'd like to drive home in this video is that most people do, in fact, have the time to reach out to volunteer and make a difference. Even some of those who don't believe they do.

Additionally, bringing the community together and strengthening it doesn't always have to mean putting on a play. You can take the time to become better friends with your neighbors - those who simply happen to live on the same street as you. By being closer to them as friends, it creates a network of people who care and look out for each other. An aspect of the culture that I believe has been receding or lost in recent history.
