I have pricing for the models and rigging for Mary Stewart and Mary Wolf, right in the range I knew it would be. I'm considering going ahead and getting the models done and then possibly crowdfunding the cost of the animation to start.

Let's say that the price would reflect a 2 minute animated feature with decent quality animation, including props and background, voice talent and foley, and that it would be produced for early backers at 1080p. This would follow the TF of Mary Stewart in the first comic.

What would you reasonably pay to purchase a download of this type of TF, to see whether this is even worth beginning?

more than 10$, that too much work :P

It is expensive, but it's useless to charge a high amount if most people want to pay far less...

Oh dawm... Okay 😅. To me, the max i can pay would be 30$ maybe..

Part of the cost is the model/rigging, so that's just an initial cost. Until I get more characters done.

I'm willing to pay quite a bit (100-300), for two reasons.  Firstly, it will be difficult if it's done well. I work in VFX primarily as an animator, so I know CG stuff is a lot of work. Modelling, rigging, shading, hair/fur/cloth sim, animation, even cinematography are highly specialized skills that are required to make something of this sort, and it's hard to have a strong base in all of those. That's why there is a lot of mediocre stuff out there, I would even say I don't think I have ever seen a good 3d animated transformation. There is a lot of lazy stuff, slapped together in Poser and whatnot. But something that actually is made well, that's a rarity. Secondly, I appreciate how much of a niche this genre is. To get a good artist that is willing to do this type of work must be astronomically hard, this alone has serious value. Is that not why we have all joined patreon? To hopefully have this be financially beneficial enough for people who want to do this, to keep doing this?  So, yea. If you're able to do it well, I'm willing to pay for it.

Thank you. Yes, I know it will be expensive. And I did not want someone cheap or someone who only works in Poser or Blender. I looked at the samples that the artist had, and hired the artist to do the models and rigging first. If things go well there, then I'll create a video about this and crowdfund the actual animation. It will be very expensive even though the storyboards are already done. Once I have more information, I will let everyone know on the Patreon.
