* I agree with replacing "dark" with "tribal"/"wood"/etc for more primitive elves that prefer to live in nature rather than cities, good choice. * I recommend going further and removing "dark elf" from both Strive 1 & 2 and continuing to use "Drow" or introducing "Night Elf"/"Moon Elf"/etc to describe even more reclusive elves with exotic coloration I usually think of 'dark elves' from Tolkien's mythos (where most fantasy elves originate) and they preferred to stay in Middle-Earth where it was always night (this is where the 'dark' comes from - the sun didn't yet exist and the sky was only lit by stars) while the other elves migrated to the land of endless day. Because neither group aged, there wasn't really a generation gap between the groups, some siblings/cousins were still alive in both groups thousands of years later, so they were only culturally distinct but still basically looked the same. ("Dark" had nothing to do with skin color).

BUT Tolkien took inspiration from norse mythos to build his universe. "Elf" comes from "Alfar", a white fairy like creature that inhabits the plane of Alfheimir, loves plants and hates metal. And kinda opposite to them there exist "Svartalf" (literally translated as "Black Alf") who are dark skinned and inhabit the caverns of Svartalfheim, love mischief and don't like nature. So you can use pretty much any definition to separate elves and it will still be correct by some "original". What I see most important is to define exactly what differentiates each..

Tolkien didn't take much descriptive inspiration from svartalfar (who, as you say, are 'black elfs') as they were basically greedy, short, stout, and ugly, more like twisted dwarves than anything we would recognize as an 'elf' in modern fantasy. There were also "dokkalfar", literally 'dark elves', who may have been distinct from svartalfar. From all of this 'alf'/'elf' was sort of like like 'fae' where it could be broadly used to refer to any otherworldly/supernatural humanoids; e.g. tiny creatures that aid beleagured cobblers or a fat, human-sized, elf who delivers coal and presents to the world's children as examples. I deliberately ignored the pre-Tolkien 'alf'/'elf' because they're obscure and do not resemble 'elves' commonly represented in the fantasy setting tropes the Strive series leverages. Prior to this patch, the 'Elf'/'Dark Elf' bore a close enough semblance to Tolkien's elves that I didn't question the names too much though it still seemed odd, particularly next to the distinctly post-Tolkien "drow" (who have more in common with svartalfar but are still too lithe and pointy-eared). I'm just recommending that 'dark elf' is confusing and transferring between two races in an established setting will only be even more confusing. This is like a market changing their 'green apples' signs to 'Granny Smith apples', it's silly but hardly noteworthy, but if at the same time they relabel all of their pears as 'green apples' I'm forced to wince. That's what this is.

Sorry if I'm missing something here, but the "winx64" version of the download seem to be the old version of the game still. The x32 one shows as 1.0, but the x64 still shows at 0.5.25 when I launch it.

Thanks for the report, we are currently fixing some additional stuff and will make an update soon

Drows were renamed to dark elves primarily to avoid potential copyright issues. In sequel original strive's 'dark elves' were renamed to tribal elves for some time already and since strive1 had dark elves occupied, there were renamed as well.

Hello and great work! A small thing I noticed: in this version, when I initiate an interaction with multiple partners I seem to run into the problem that I can't select an action with either partner. Also the 3rd partner doesn't show in the list where you can select who does what to whom. Thanks for taking a look and cheers!
