I know I've promised to make a release soon, but dragged on quite a bit (in my terms). I'll probably make a release at the end of this week still, but I decided to make this post for some details and some things to talk over.

Strive Sequel.

Firstly, new demo features: I've added bunch of animations, fixed critical issues including dungeon boss encounter, added lots more events and event mechanics, which took a good time (basically selecting a character for their stat check in encounter and such), revamped quests and quest rewards, and then finally added a character chat and personality system, which will produce random messages according to certain actions based on personality.

I plan for 4 basic personalities: shy, kind, bold and serious, so the characters would react on events like getting enough exp for class unlock, winning combat, starting affair or making an item. Later it can be expanded a lot with specific conditions, so characters will feel more like... characters.

Early quests and locations will be smaller and easier to complete with more varying rewards like usable items and gear. I've worked through most of it except for slave requirement quests and rewards. The only concern I currently have, though, is that early (and endgame is not quite existing yet) there's really not a lot of options to get any rare races and monster girls, so I might have to add a couple special events for some way for those.

Lastly, I've also postponed the release for some time, since we've been working on the first main assets, mainly human and elven cities with the artist, but it didn't worked out despite our efforts. In other words, I'll be looking for new artist and assets are put on hold again, to my regrets.

So with that in mind, we'll be moving onto

Displaced.

There's also good and bad news. Good news, we got lots of nice assets and illustrations for it. I'm sorry for now sharing them, since I hate spoiling my work, but I'm fairly satisfied with them, which is not so often with me.

The bad news though, is that with all the work done with strive sequel and its combat, and the fact how it inherited its system from Displaced, its combat will have to be quite heavily revamped, which is going to take some time.

On the other hand I've been planning to separate the game into a few acts which would be released one by one, but as some pieces are completed before others, its a bit hard to estimate how much should or shouldn't go into single act. I must say I'm glad at how people are giving me enough time without demanding more progress on it. Originally I planned to start working on it more heavily about a month or two ago, but was sucked into strive sequel heavily, but that will likely change as I'm looking for lead artist and awaiting for their progress: I'll be able to work on displaced in the meantime.

Thank you for your attention and let me know what you think.
