We are switching to godot3.0.

After some consideration and the fact that it became public, I decided to move Strive to latest engine version. The porting gonna take some considerable time as almost every script needs adjustment.

There might be some changes in game's performance, mainly:

  • New save files folder (in that case you will have to transfer saves on your own)
  • You will need  OpenGL ES 3  supported by your hardware (might not work on some old GPUs). I realize this is not quite optimal for everyone, but 3.1 engine should bring back. Anyway, as that might impact your playability, take caution.

So lots of changes are planned for next version. Porting will probably be finished quite soon, but other stuff will be taking more time. Once we will be close to release I'll surely let you know.

Thank you for your attention!

So what's the upside to the 3.0? The only changes you mentioned are needing to move save files (minorly annoying, but not a big deal), and making the game unplayable on older machines (nothing positive about that). Are there new features with 3.0 that you plan on using?

There's lot of improvements for convenience (easier to work with) and some small improvements regarding stuff like sound and cursor. On top, I've been two versions behind and its not a good thing to deal with unsupported stuff and unfixed bugs. We might also use some more of the recent visual improvements.

So how would a mac user go about finding the new save files folder ?
