I've been thinking for quite a lot what do I want from tattoo system (or, more specifically, I haven't quite decided it at first, as I'm not a very big fan). After taking a look at how other games handle them, I decided that... I don't really wanna have them as just flavor text like piercing is. 

Well, since we are not really held back by puny sense or logic, and since by using custom descriptions you could already implement them on your own, I, instead, went for gameplay effects. 

Basically, every slave has up to 6 tatto-able body parts - face, chest, butt, arms, legs, waist (some races won't have an option to tattoo arms or legs, naturally). Every part can be tattooed however you like and you will be able to choose out of several categories: Nature, Tribal, Derogatory, Magic,  Animalistic (perhaps we can come up with more options later) and will provide minor bonuses depending on tattoo's theme: i.e. magic will increase magic affinity, while nature will increase appeal. I have some thoughts on how exactly bonuses will be calculated based on tattooed body parts, but in either case it will provide considerable diversity in what you would want your slave to look like. As for those, who are not fond of tattoos but still want the bonuses, they will be able to use invisible ink to hide tattoos from character's description.

That also gave me couple of ideas on how we could play it further: for example, thematically decorated slaves, or slaves with certain theme preferences (elves would generally go for nature I suppose?). 

Anyway, next version gonna have lots of minor changes and bugfixes, and probably will be out by end of a week. Although, I might hold it back for a bit as there's still a hefty list of small stuff I want to implement sooner and releases tend to slow those down with all eventual bugs.

The tattoo system sounds really neat! Kudos for doing your own thing with them. After reading this though, I'd kinda like the piercings to work in a similar way ...

Seconded. Maybe have tattoos effect beauty/jobs more and have piercings enchanted more (equivalent of enchanted rings and the like)?

I can't seem to assign a farm manager, is this just a thing that's not in the public release or am I experiencing a bug?

One thing that could also be interesting with tattoos would be to make tattoos into something learnable as you go. For example, there could be plans that are dropped, rarely, from some foes or purchased in specific shops/encounters, but the majority of them could come already on slaves. As you advance in skill, it would become easier and easier to analyze and learn them from slaves with those tattoos, if you make the check, well, you learn to make that tattoo, and if you fail, you might just ruin the bonus' of the tattoos on that slave, leaving a "generic" version that gives no bonus at all and would need to be removed if you want to add ones with bonuses back
