The image header had nothing to do with this post. 

It was a requested quick sketch by one of the patrons for some meme.

He said he once saw Siggy and Mahalai in them, and it's a better picture than the blightpurge sprite sheet lol.


Hey guys. I'm alive. But lifeless. I already forgot what the sun and the outside looks like. 


Anyway, I've 5 more tasks to do before the next playable update, tho it's the last things needed to be done, I foresee it won't make it for my birthday. I really tried but it's just overwhelming even with my new ugly glasses. After 5-6 hours, I still get dizzy. But I'm very close. And here's what's left for me to do:


MINIGAME REWORK

-You no longer need to hover your mouse every time on the icon.

-When the icon goes berserk, you must now move your own icon away from the enraged icon or the enemy meter will go up rapidly if it catches the Siggy icon. (We'll have a mini siggy icon hovering the stage that will follow your mouse, btw)


NEW FOREST AND RUINS BIOME

-We will slowly redesign the current background. It will still be there in the tutorial until we also redo the tutorial, but I'll redo the doodads, walls, trees and object shapes to fit the new dungeon engine. There will be placeholders this next update, so keep that in mind. (I'm even tempted to make a level editor, but maybe in the future)


GANKER / DEVOURER GAME OVER SCENE

-Touch ups and polish for this scene as there's a lot of stuff going on here. This will be the last time I will be doing extreme touch ups and shading because the next sets will be the animator's job now.


BLUE SPELL STUN TRAP

-When you're set to blue spells and click, you will no longer do a Buzz Lightsaw projectile. Siggy will now crouch and plant a stun trap. This will help her target better with the Glory Beam.


BLIGHT PURGE VISUALS

-We also just finished the animation for blight purge, the final red spell upgrade. We'll be sure to put this in for the update. Here's what the sheet looks like. I'll arrange them and animate ingame. Right click open in new tab


I'll post a video whenever I finish each of these tasks and post here for update.




------------ABOUT INDULGE MECHANIC-----------


I got about 8 or so messages (here, newgrounds and facebook) about indulge mechanic, and YES all enemies will have the scene. It's not just a picture that I posted before. They will all be animated. In fact, here's a preview of the first  KEYFRAMES the animator's working on right now. Right click open in new tab. Do excuse how it looks at the moment. it will be refined later when the inbetween animations are worked at.


The only thing about the indulge mechanic is the first two (Ganker and Bloodhunter) scenes will not make it to the next playable update. Unless you think it should be there, be informed that it will take another month to get them in. So I'll let you guys decide and vote.  




------------HIRING NEW ANIMATOR-----------

Lastly, because of the mild vertigo I feel whenever I hit the 6 hour work day, I'm looking for another animator who can help out fill the 2-6 hours I can no longer give like before. This way, the scenes get finished faster and more H content for you guys.


So if anyone here knows one who can do the same quality we do in Divine Arms, is hard working, honest and professional to do NSFW animations... then I'd like to hire that person. Have the person email me at godseedstudios@gmail.com

You're a saint, practically martyring yourself for us and this project. work hard but you should work only five hours a day for the sake of your health, and family, You have a troop of loyal fans; myself included whom can wait a little longer if need be. THANK YOU FOR WORKING HARD FOR US

Well, I've already exchanged a ton of messages with HentaiWriter about this, so I figure I should finally ask you directly: Do you feel that the second game you are currently working on (Internal Interrogation) has affected Divine Arms's work flow? This is what I see in one of the latest updates for it (<a href="https://www.patreon.com/hentaiwriter">https://www.patreon.com/hentaiwriter)</a> : "ViperV is doing face animations for the characters, as well as sketching out the designs for the Bard and Oracle characters (NPCs) so his animators can start work on their stuff for the NPC scenes." Honestly, I'm simply wondering why you had the idea to work on this second game in the first place? I think you mentioned you needed a break from the main project from time to time so as not to get burned out (though it sounds like you kind of are at the moment anyway)? As for the strawpoll, I REALLY urge everyone to vote "No" and leave the indulge scenes for a different update in the future. Isn't that the idea behind having game updates anyway? So that more content can be released as time goes by, not just keep accumulating more and more stuff resulting in ever greater delays? Maybe the new patrons haven't had to wait that long, but I'm sure many others (me included) have been awaiting a new update for about 7 and a half months now, so once again, let's have a release ASAP. This new demo has already ended up having tons more content that originally intended. I don't even think such a poll should have been made, because from the looks of it, it will only serve to divide patrons. And besides, you yourself even joked about how ridiculous it would be to include even more scenes in the new version in a recent post! Finally, maybe it is better to not give a release date until everything is pretty much finished and in final testing...That's also what another H-game creator, "YummyTiger" seems to have settled on after missing a self-imposed deadline of his recently. Good luck with everything and maybe go to this strange "outside" place and take a look at those stars in the night sky to calm your mind :D P.S.: Is the Bloodhunter animation finished and will it be posted here soon?

Jeez man, take it easy! We all want you to be willing AND able to keep doing this for a long time to come. I appreciate how hard you've worked on this, but keep Number 1 at the top of the priorities list (you!). I really hope a lighter work load has your health improving so you can continue to work at the slower pace. Steady as she goes, yeah? We're all behind you, man.

well I had the same mistake carrying over to Internal Interrogation which was I still had to do a ton of polishing after the animator sent the files. And I admit that took time. However that was done a month ago now and the only thing I've done recently for HW is this: <a href="http://i.imgur.com/Ohi383H.jpg" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://i.imgur.com/Ohi383H.jpg</a> - He knows I have DA prioritized and atm even the animator is doing only DA stuff. As for why I decided to work with him for a second game is because honestly as human, I often DO get sick and stressed over Divine Arms and really need the break 1-2 days a week away from it because my output gets wasted. like doing X task with serious debilitation on a Friday and decide to redo it all by Monday because it was sub par or unoptimized coding / sluggish art. (I change my mind A LOT when not satisfied) - Right now doing the update crunch, I really have no choice but to go all out. I am unhappy and super stressed about it but I know I have to do it. You have no Idea how much hate messages I get eversince the campaign jumped to 4k haha. The reason for the indulge in the next demo is because I ended up delaying so much, I wanted to put a lot of scenes in the next update until I can REALLY update consistently every 2-3 months. I fear and worry for those things every day. Despite being a long time dev, Patreon's system is still very new to me and it overwhelms me even up to this day. And yeah, after recovering last time, I got overconfident until the mother fucker retorted. And I think I declared release dates twice now. This surely legitimizes that I am very new to this kind of work flow. But the pressure of people asking for updates really get to me sometimes. Bloodhunter indulge is next in the animator's task but game over animation is finished! I'll include a video of it once I finish one of the tasks I mentioned in the main post.

Well, since the votes are already looking like another month before I have anything legitimate to 'exercise' to...take your time and make sure you're not working yourself to the point of hating your own project. You don't want to be like a certain someone else on the internet who a lot of people on this forum most likely know where they promise a million things and then don't post ANYTHING about the game for like 6 months. As much as he's also a great game designer...he has ridiculous perfectionist/one more thing issues. I would prefer small updates here and there, but I guess most people are more patient than I. I look forward to the next animations.

It's become a case of tacking on so many extra things. When I began supporting the work, it seemed as tho I would see a demo within 2-3 months. As more features are added, I feel like more long-term backers are losing one of the main perks promised in incremental demos. I don't really understand why people are voting for the addition of more features in the next demo when it's already been pushed back so much. I understand if you've only known about the project for a month or so, but I've been aware and backing it for a while now. Doesn't make sense to me, personally. I may be in the minority tho. As for your health, please take it easy once u get this demo out. It will be a huge milestone and one worthy of some serious rest. We love the work that you're doing here, and don't want to see u get burnt out and lose the passion that inspired u to start this project in the first place :)

looking at your pledge, you've helped the campaign more than enough. You will still get early builds according to your total pledge amount when it's ready even if you no longer pledge. If you're still interested in the campaign feeds, you can simply edit your pledge to $1 for that. Thanks a lot for the contribution!

The rewards will accumulate and reset after each release of playable demos so whenever they decide to stop supporting, they will still get those rewards after. As for 'feature' it's really nothing more but extra animation where time and talent are the only things it requires unlike coding and game design where things can surely fuck schedules up. Thanks for the wishes! I'll probably take a whole day break tomorrow for the birthday to see some sun. I doubt I'd lose passion... i mean passion means to endure and to suffer haha, but yeah I'm having fun developing this game. Just very stressed.

Really liked the idea about the mini game - it makes more sense to run away from the monster than to try and catch it. Just don't make things too easy. Maybe some monsters could add effects to this? Like getting a bigger dish or slowing down Siggy escape for some reason? Looking forward to the next beta :D And take care of your health :D
