🙌☺Hey there, buddies! We’re thrilled to have finally presented you with the newest Patch Post last Friday, during our first of many livestreams! We hope you had as much fun as we did, as we tried our best to answer all of your questions, meticulously gathering the many insights you gave us about the gameplay along the way - So, rest assured, all of your thoughts and concerns are taken note of! 📝Last week we made a deeper than usual overture with one of the features you can find in the v0.38 update, and before we continue with this thorough dive into each of the exciting mechanics that await you, let’s take back a step or two, and give you a rundown of all of them, starting with…

Installation Guide: Windows and Mac OS guide

🎲Minigames!

You’ve probably already familiarised yourselves with the three new optional activities our designers carefully crafted in order to emulate a more real-life approach to certain in-game pastimes. Since keeping the cosiness of a virtual universe such as Little Sim World makes it challenging to authentically translate every activity into a game setting, some of them get simplified to a level of short-lasting player passiveness. Now, even though we are and want to stay low-key, we also feel that the experience we’re tailoring for you should always be at least a bit engaging and above all else fun! 🎮📌

Following that motive, we made sure you can interact with the game even when your little simmies are sleeping, writing and away at work! Of course, the consequences of choosing to stay afk during these times won’t in any way impact your gameplay negatively, but if you do opt for letter matching, sheep counting and moodlet popping, you might just get some nifty bonuses! If you absolutely adore helping your tiny sheep friends prance over the dream fence, you can now even pick what kind of Zzzs you want to gather - Clicking on the bed will give you the options to Nap, Full Rest, Sleep until Morning and Sleep until Work, with each displaying the approximate time your sim will wake up at, so no more closed shops and missed workdays (unless you decide to enjoy the little stars and crescent moon a bit longer, that is)! 💤🛌

Now, if you want to get into something even more immersive, we invite you to try out…

🛠Crafting!

The trusty Workbench has gotten yet another use! Instead of only painting the furniture you already own or have just purchased and need it customized to fit into your little home’s aesthetic, now you can redesign your place exclusively with material found at the D&Y Store. Save up some cash, show your knack for sustainability and disassemble your old stuff into useful blocks of wood and metal that you can use to upcycle your house. Plastic and some other unique and exotic crafting materials can even be found if you take a step further with your low-waste lifestyle and help clean the dumpsters around tiny London! ♻✨

The Crafting Interest will allow you to create both your own items and furniture through the use of different components, which become obtainable according to time and experience! The more experience you gain sanding and sawing at your crafting table, the more recipes you will unlock. A few simple ones will be available from the beginning of the game, but start thinking as a craftsman would and you’ll quickly see the many opportunities for experimenting around you - Who knows, maybe those collectibles don’t have to be displayed in a museum, after all, it would be a waste not to reimagine them into something more… functional! Oh, and if you think you can complete the journey from a Card Tower Expert to a Grand Builder of Little Sim World, why not become a professional Craftsman? 🔨🪑

Of course, if you just can’t bring yourself to destroy those adorable toys that can be beautifully presented at the museum for all the little sims to admire, you’ll probably enjoy one of the…

🎭New Traits!

Being a collector of antiquities is a legitimate hobby, we say - Cultural institutions applaud this and even grant certain rewards for your conservation efforts and shared passion, so we figured The Little Museum would do the same! Picking a special new trait like The Museum’s Favourite will help with amplifying those feelings of fulfillment when you find a brand new collectable, boosting your needs the first time you deliver something unique to the seasoned curators at the museum building, but also boosting your cash if you’d rather sell them at the Pawn Shop!💰

If you prefer discovering flavours instead of things, the Culinary Savant trait will make sure that your homecooked goods always taste better than the ones you can buy at Simon’s Pub, and your friendly face buying fresh produce all the time at GoGoGrocery will surely get remembered, bringing down the prices just for you! Shopping sprees and discounts will also be especially rewarding for *********High Rollers, and for sims with Lucky Hands, grinding though any experience brings a notable thrill. For the outdoorsy types that thrive when exploring, we’ve designed a trait that acknowledges the joy of being **************Nature’s Grace, even adding a unique set of items that celebrate this… 🍝🖼

🍃Leaf Collectibles

Step outside and take in the lush greenery of the many local parks across Little Sim World! If enjoying the company of nature blesses you with meditative thoughts, and you’re always searching for a new way to take a piece of that with you, you can now catch a variety of beautiful leaves swirling across tiny London and keep them forever! Though, maybe some of them aren’t there only to look pretty, as edible leaves can be used as ingredients in your cooking and magical ones are as good of a crafting material as any!

Whichever kind you happen to find, don’t forget that they are rather fragile and slippery, easy for the wind to whisk away, so make sure to pay a quick visit to D&Y and buy one of the leaf-catching nets to always be equipped when you encounter these elusive beauties! If you’d rather stay green in every aspect of your character’s being - You can even craft your own nets and grace an old chair with an exciting change of purpose! 🍂🍁

At the end of an adventure-filled day such as that, you may just be yearning for a nice treat at the pub while you plan out your upcoming endeavours, so we’ve added a new tool on your sim’s phone to help you with keeping track of everything. Introducing the…

📅Calendar App

As we ourselves rely on lists and reminders to easily navigate the many happenings in our daily lives, it would only make sense to have an intuitive way to systematise your little character’s time-specific activities as well! With the Calendar App now found on your phone, you can see all the offers various stores have during certain days, as well as the exact items that are discounted. If you prefer checking the validity of the lower prices yourself, you can do so by paying a direct visit to Simon’s Pub or GoGoGrocery and studying either the chalkboard or the daily sale isle. 🛒👩‍🏫

The calendar may still seem a bit empty at the moment, but we assure you that almost every day will pop up with something interesting in it soon enough! While you’re eagerly awaiting all those upcoming events, you can always help yourself to the Task App and check out the new Tutorial Tasks we’ve added to help you get the hang of everything we’ve implemented recently, or even take a look at your Subscriptions to make sure you’ve renewed the one at the Library - Since now you can actually finish reading any book you borrow, which will grant you valuable experience points to help build those interests! 📅📚

🐞 Bug Fixes:

  • The library subscription book limit is fixed.
  • The museum now shows the correct albums on their respective displays.
  • Fixed issue of items not appearing correctly in containers (fridge).
  • The secondary colour tab won’t lock and close when editing colours anymore.

📰That’s (not) all, folks!

Phew! That’s a lot of exciting new things to try out and we’ve only scraped the surface with some of them. Stay tuned for more detailed explanations and some developer insights into the design process for the features we’ve added to v0.38, but most importantly, don’t be afraid to experiment and find out things at your own pace! You can always ask us anything on Discord, as well as give us feedback that no play-tester can craft better than you! Let’s keep growing together, as we’ve only gotten this far with the help of our friends in the community. 💖🌱
