Crafting or no crafting for build mode?

Terry here ~ I have a quick poll I'd like to run by everyone if that's okay. We've been working hard on how the new Furniture, DIY (walls, roofs, gardening etc) and electronics store will work. Both the Furniture and DIY stores will make their way into the game for late April and Electronics store around late May / early June.
This is super exciting, as we will close the full gameplay loop relatively soon at least for an Alpha version of the game. We are getting closer every day!

I'm currently in the process of designing crafting recipes for certain furniture and decorations. At the moment, all items can be accessed through unlocks (career, say) and discovering blueprints that allow the item to be purchased in the shops. What has been difficult has been if we want certain items to be crafting only (or a crafting system at all).
There will be a large number of collectable items in the game and we need to decide whether we want a crafting system that will lock certain items behind. I'm midway behind this, as it is not obvious to me that for a life-sim genre we would like to encourage crafting recipes for some wallpapers for example. On the other hand, it would add a lot of depth so it is quite appealing.
TLDR:
1. Crafting recipes for furniture and decorations YES PLEASE!
2. I prefer to buy things instead!
3. Both are okay!
