Another review is live folks! This time, we're leaping to the other side of the spectrum and looking at a real tiny indie game: TombStar.

TombStar's basically "the Enter the Gungeon we have at home." And I have a lot of mixed feelings about it. On the one hand, the moment to moment gameplay is legitimately great. On the other hand, this is one of the most underwhelming roguelikes I've played in a long time. Which makes for a very messy and complicated time trying to figure out if I actually like this game or not, but I think for the most part my opinion is "I just wish this was an action game without all the roguelike nonsense."

Coming up next, I'm going to be taking another, slightly more video essay-ish look at Fall Guys for its anniversary — it turns out the game has actually grown in leaps and bounds since it first came out! The next GTDM also continues work in the background, and the idea of screwing around with Gwent's new game mode continues to be an idea I flirt with in the back of my mind. We'll see if it ever becomes a thing!

How Fast Does TombStar Get Good?

Ever play a roguelike that just can't get you excited for any of its random loot? Ever decide you love it anyway? I'm in a real awkward and weird place reviewing this game, but ultimately, I think it's a lot of fun!
