At long last, I've finally completed my thoughts on Doom Eternal! This video ended up...hefty, practically twice the length of my usual review. Even if fanboyism might cause me to be a little verbose, there is just such an overwhelming tide of stuff in this game! Not only does Doom Eternal have frankly more gameplay systems than it knows what to do with, it also saw fit to drastically overhaul almost every existing component of 2016, which leaves me with a heck of a lot to talk about even when just highlighting the first five hours. So much that I've been scrambling all week to try and get this bad boy out the door.

Hope you all enjoy! And hopefully with this, we'll be getting fully back on schedule for next week when I jump back to something a little more indie.

Doom Eternal Review: A Complete Overhaul

Today's review is at last on Doom Eternal, probably the game I'll get the most hyped about all year. And thank god does it deliver! Doom Eternal is an exceptionally busy game, and even more surprisingly, it's almost a complete overhaul of everything 2016 did. All the pieces are still there, but from new movement abilities to new enemy classifications to new progression systems, no part of the Doom formula has gone untouched. Luckily, the total makeover is a mostly all-around improvement. If you haven't noticed from how long this video is, I have way too many thoughts about even just this game's first five hours, so strap in for this First Five review! If you haven't heard yet, First Five has a brand new patreon.
