Rounding out this week's splash of content, a review of Ori and the Will of the Wisps landed this morning. It took a bit to finish this one with the craziness of the patreon launch eating most of the week, but better late than never!

Two or three of you might be wondering how, after I just got done spending a dozen minutes gushing about how much I love Doom, this isn't the Doom Eternal review, and the answer to that is that it's coming next week! I got the game at the same time as everyone else, so it's going to take a few more days to transmogrify my thoughts into an actual video. Spoilers: like everyone else in the universe, I'm having a lot of fun with it. Cheers!

Ori and the Will of the Wisps Review: A Time-Tested Formula

Today's review is on Ori and the Will of the Wisps, which picks up both narratively and mechanically from where the first one left off five years ago. A lot has changed about the medium in those five years, but Ori's best points haven't. It still remains a quality platformer with an emphasis on gorgeous presentation, that signature bash move, and setpiece "escape" sequences, while some of the elements it's tried to add, namely the increased focus on combat, are a little less successful. And you can hear me expand on all those points in this First Five review! If you haven't heard yet, First Five has a brand new patreon.
