Happy New Year and welcome to the first video of 2022! This is one of those ones I considered doing as a weekend video, but figured there was absolutely no way the algorithm would treat it very well (in fact, Patreon made me change the title or else it was going to flag it for review). Consider this one "too hot for YouTube!", like an old Jerry Springer VHS tape, as we discuss Billie Eilish's thoughts on a certain industry.

Billie Eilish recently spoke out against the, umm, adult film industry, stating that it "destroyed her mind" and "made her say yes to things that were harmful". Buckley wonders if perhaps the education system or poor parenting is to blame (especially for Billie Eilish, who was home-schooled), and looks at how annoying former addicts can be.

Billie Eilish vs Porn (Extra Dose)

The internet is made for porn.

I was always confused as to why porn itself was to blame when it came to how it affects people. Billie is not an isolated example. Many people around her age started watching porn young as well, and they didn't all turn out horribly. Like you said, it all comes down to education. Hopefully parents know by now not to let the internet parent their kids but that may be too much to ask of people. In order to be a good parent, you have to actually talk to your kids.

Well, hilariously enough, many major innovations came about because of that industry. And various formats won out over others because of it. The reason VHS became the winner over BetaMAX? The adult film industry. BluRay also won out over HD-DVD partially because of that. I would not be surprised to learn that someone made some breakthrough in servers or some sort of other Internet technology in order to keep up with the bandwidth being used by some porn site.

Thank you, every now and then I love to throw a real obscure one in there and see who enjoys it.

Decades ago, people let TV babysit their kids, and I guess those kids grew up and figured "Well the Internet's the new TV", the problem is that TV governed what your kids could see because of how heavily regulated it is... the Internet has no such regulations (nor should it have them of course). As a parent, you have to make a little extra effort, AND not be afraid to have certain talks with your kids. No more of this dumb trope of "oh it's embarrassing to give the birds and bees talk" (that TV taught everyone), it's about your kid's health!

Exactly why I HATE Billie Eilish… she’s the most toxic combination in the world - self-righteous, preachy asswipe mixed with an edgy, emotionally stunted teenager. That and her music sucks serious ass.

The intro about ex addicts had me dying, I was so caught off guard lol. Hilarious yet accurate points as always Buckley!

As someone that is 22 and pretty much the same or around the same age is Billie, I feel like compared to what children in the were exposed to, pornography is not that bad. Also I feel it's an inevitability of being a child in the modern era. You're going to run across it at some point online, intentional or not. But there somebody at school shows you it because they found it online or an older kid showed them or how it used to be back in the day I guess where people would find these things out through magazines. I think we should focus on sex education and not necessarily normalizing sex for children's education but making it a lot less of a taboo subject to talk about for everyone's benefit

As a 40-year-old woman who first came across porn hidden away on VHS tapes at an age much earlier than Billie started watching, my attitude about porn is "And??" Porn, like most things in life, is what you make it and/or allow it to be. And at 17 when the internet came knocking, I ran into BDSM and I'm still ok!!!! It didn't destroy my brain. I'm fine. Well, maybe not "fine" but pornography certainly has nothing to do with any issues I may or may not have. Even as a kid I knew it was just for show. Well, I did get it into my head that all sex was earth-shattering so boy was I in for a let down there. And I didn't start to have sex until I was 18 so it did not lead me down a path of debauchery and darkness. If you don't like it, hey don't watch it. The end. Preachy people can arise in any subject and usually miss the fact they are who they are. Billie Eilish I guess is now an anti-porn evangelical. "Let me tell you what is wrong and not right for you. Listen to me, I know the way. This is to blame."
