The firehouse playset build continues with the exterior walls for Level 2! The exterior wall is broken up into sub-modules to make it easy for printing. They can be interlocked and glued together. A few notes:

  • Walls - I continue to print the grey/white areas out of a matte marble PLA - I continue to be impressed by the PolyMaker brand of material here!
  • Brick - I designed it so the brick areas can be printed separately from the main wall - this means you can select a color of your preference. The firehouse as depicted in 1989, 2016, and in Frozen Empire has red brick (as it has in the real world). In the 1984 film, the exterior of the firehouse was depicted with a matte black brick as seen after the Ghostbusters move in. The script even describes them painting their firehouse black! I am going with the black look personally - it looks really sharp.

If you are just getting started....

Here are some simple diagrams you might find helpful as you assemble...

This is turning out great. I printed the first floor brick layer separately by mistake due to blowing a circuit breaker. I was planning to do a filament swap. I managed to recreate the layer with the corners parts so I could have consistent white brick. It worked fine glued onto the black walls.

my brick panels lost a few patches of bricks but it only made it look more authentic. i'm printing small so the bambu printer ate a few on that first layer
