Another set of Firehouse files are ready - this set is for building out the walls of the Ecto garage with the iconic archway. The archway - when fully opened - was designed to provide enough clearance for the Kenner Ectomobile to fit through with the gunner seat and a figure! In fact, you might say this entire 3D printing exercise stems from this single childhood frustration that has been simmering for over 30 years.....

(Note: if you are just starting, get Part 1 files here...)

I printed the firehouse walls using a "Matte Marble' PLA by PolyMaker. It prints VERY clearly and gives off a light-grey stone look. I'm sure it'd look even more realistic if you put a dark wash and weathered it up a bit. Right now, mine is sitting pristine and clean.

Here is my print of these files...

im getting around to the arch and wondering if its better to lay it down or print it vertically?

What resolution are you guys' printing this at? Also, should I print these laying down? I am afraid if I do, I would need to sand and then paint, and I am would rather just print them in the correct colors without needing to paint.

Most of the wall parts were printed upright in my build at a standard 0.2mm layer height resolution
