I've been working on preparing the last scene with the interactive screens that a free-roam consists of.

It's a bit hard to explain exactly what I'm doing, but this phase of setting up such a huge scene is about planning where to put the different placeholders of what you can interact with of people and objects.

Inside a house, this would be much easier to do, as you've got different rooms to put people in, but out on a beach, you pretty much have the whole beach in view depending on where you turn. Some angles have as many as 8 people in view.

So I had to redo the layout, meaning where to put people, cameras, and adding props smartly so I don't have to do more renders than necessary of all the people from all camera angles.

I did find a very good solution to the problem. The only minus is that I have to render bigger images than normal (equivalent to 6k resolution), so the rendering part takes a bit longer than usual.

Still, almost done with that part, and I can start working on the actual story scenes you can activate by interacting with the characters, which will be business as usual when it comes to posing and rendering.

But while I do that, I hope you have a nice autumn weekend, and that you still have a bit of summer feeling left.

Take care, and stay safe out there.

It is said that you only truly know something if you can explain it to someone else. With that said, does doing these dev diaries help in any way with how you see your efforts? Cheers!
