Dev Diary, July 2nd, 2021 (Patreon)

No talk of hot 3090's this week. In fact I did no further testing at all. In the end it took the fun out of this and left me feeling burned out and uninterested.

Instead, I decided to sit down and push forward with the story in HD, and I had a blast doing so which the render count increase for this week should confirm, which is now at 648 story renders and 7,135 animated frames. The quality is still better than on my 2060 card, and I've doubled up on iterations (see the animation below for reference).

I have planned out and built all the rest of the scenes for this chapter, including all the music needed. I strongly believe that this is by far the best chapter I've done audially, visually and storywise - even with a lot of work remaining.

There will most likely be no sneak peek video for this chapter (although, maybe), but there will be a release date video when I can hone in an actual date I'm certain I will be able to reach. It's still to early to predict a date, but if I can keep going like I did this week without interruptions we're looking at late summer.

The animation is an experiment of mine, timelining it to 120fps to create a nice slow motion. (and it's also my little silent protest toward the "blur the background" movement which seems to be hitting the vn's hard lately). :)
