I really enjoyed working on Chapter 6 this week as I finally got a chance to dip into more of the more serious part of the story, and I have been steadily grinding away at posing and rendering.
I did notice that the 3090 vram temperature is at a steady 92C when rendering in 4k. After checking in with Kentyrr and Stoya who did test renders just to give me some referring values, I could conclude it is indeed a bit high. The GPU temperature itself is a very good 60C at 55% fan speed.
Therefor I'm not running 4k renders at night at the moment. It's not a big problem for now, as I'm posing more than I'm actually rendering. If I'm left in a squeeze with slow rendering because of it, I can just do them in normal HD (and the 3090 will be able to spit out about 20 renders an hour).
I expect to be able to go back to 4k relatively soon, as I hope to do some improvements to the temperature reasonably soon, and a big thank you to both Kentyrr and Stoya for taking the time to run checks on their end.
Numbers for now are 517 finished story renders (plus a lot queued up), and 5,174 animated frames.
If you're using Discord and enjoying the new profile banner feature, then I have a little bonus for you attached to this post. The Cece animation is optimized for the Discord banner, in case you want to give your Discord profile a little fix-er-up.
Other than that, enjoy the season, and stay safe.
