Unfortunately the show doesn’t explain what Tokiomi‘s goal is more specifically. The ‘vortex of root’ is the ultimate goal for most of the mages in this universe. When you reach to ‘the vortex of the Root’ you will understand the world and obtain the ultimate magic. It’s something like the ‘truth’ from Fullmetel alchemist. Having fun watching you guys struggle with Kiritugu’s intentions. Things will get revealed.
