One of the best episode of Vinland to date. 10/10 stuff all around. Great reaction too, guys. Makoto Yukimura (VS author), wrote another manga called Planetes, which is set in space. Haven't seen it/read it so I can't tell you how it is, but I've heard great things about it. Even tho it's generally agreed that his best work is Vinland

As the other guy said, there's a sci-fi story called Planetes by the same writer as Vinland Saga. It also has a great anime adaptation, which I hear has a decent amount of differences, but apparently both versions are great in their own way.

Snake sword is way different from others around also the place he said he came from "Miklagard" (the Old Norse name of Constantinople). Since Vikings reached as far as exploring Mediterranean sea, some of them stayed in Byzantine Empire at the time and got recruited as "Varangian Guard" mercenary force serving under Byzantine Emperor, they also fought and got recruited all around the sea that's why some of them came from land far far away with unique weapons, clothes etc never seen around in Northern Europe.

They did FANTASTIC job with this ep... it made me cry even more when Gardar meet his son in heaven/afterlife like you guys said we only got introducted to Gardar and focus more on Arnheid from ep 13-17. This is PEAK writing here and people just missing out.. now I can't wait to see your reaction to next eps because boy from here on out we not stopping till the season ends.

And some special people say S2 bad because Thorfin is not fighting any more pathetic, for me its same level or even better than S1.
