Hello everyone! This is an exclusive Patreon look at the line-up of official Hardware Unboxed merch that is available RIGHT NOW.

Yep, we've launched our merch line, at least a soft launch for now with a full announcement on the main channel in a few days time.

We know many of you have been asking for merch for ages, we've been working on merch for a lot of this year and we're super happy with the final results.

For now, we are starting small with three main apparel options which we think we've been able to deliver at a great price with great quality. This is just the start though, we'll definitely be expanding over the coming months to offer more cool stuff.

So what is available?

Hardware Unboxed Logo Tee

This is our main logo on a T-shirt. It's available in dark grey (pictured above) as well as light grey if you want a lighter color option. It's 100% cotton (90/10 cotton/polyester for light grey) and super soft, unisex fit, crew cut, all the good stuff. And of course available in multiple sizes.

Hardware Unboxed Text Logo Tee

Something a little different. If you don't want to rock a large HUB cube logo, we also offer one with a smaller logo and Hardware Unboxed text. Available in the same dark grey and light grey colors, with light grey pictured above. We think the light grey is a great subtle choice and the blue is super vibrant in real life. It's genuinely hard to photograph the blue-grey option, but we love it.

Hardware Unboxed Lightweight Hoodie

This is a lightweight jersey-style hoodie with a custom embroidered Hardware Unboxed logo. Super soft like the shirts, made from a fabric blend, great for layering with a t-shirt or wearing in warmer weather. Split pockets, unisex fit, and available in black (pictured above) as well as grey

And yeah, somehow we roped Tim into being a model...

Crowdmade

Our partners for this are Crowdmade, who do a fantastic job serving a number of online creators and YouTubers. We looked at a number of different options but Crowdmade were offering the best package for us overall and we've been nothing but impressed at what they've done for us so far.

Crowdmade are handling all the manufacturing, warehousing, fulfillment and support for our merch line. This means we don't have to focus on packing t-shirts or dealing with payments and returns, so we have maximum time for content creation. If you have any problems, Crowdmade will be able to sort you out.

Worldwide Shipping

We've mentioned many times that we have a global audience, so a key thing for us was offering our merch everywhere. Crowdmade are based in the USA, which aligns with our channel given our largest audience is the USA. But still, more than 70% of you aren't in the US, so we wanted to make sure everyone can access our products.

This means worldwide shipping is available. We wanted to ensure that our Australian fans in particular could get good shipping rates and Crowdmade again delivered in this area. Unfortunately we couldn't do everything locally without making it difficult for non-Aussies to access our merch, but we think around US$8 for shipping is decent, especially compared to many other providers we looked at, who often charged $20+ to ship down under.

Why do you have a merch line?

Mostly because you guys and our fans have been asking for it. We love you all and if you want merch, we'll make merch.

It's also a great way for people to make a one-off contribution to us directly without having to go through Patreon. Lots of people ask us if we have a donation button or a way to contribute, but don't want a monthly subscription or flat out don't like Patreon. Well now those people can buy merch, which contributes to us directly, and you'll also get something neat out of it.

If you're wondering where the money will go, basically the same as with Patreon: we'll use it to improve the channel, buy hardware to test with, upgrade our cameras, etc. We re-invest a lot of our direct contributions into the content itself, we think that is very important.

Why did this take so long?

Some of you will know that we've been working on merch and teasing it throughout 2019. So you might be wondering why it took us 6-7 months to print a simple cube onto a t-shirt.

Well firstly, our logo is difficult to print, as it turns out. It has gradients, which is basically the big sin of printing. But we still wanted to accurately reflect our brand on our merch, so we needed a few iterations to get it right.

On top of that we wanted to ensure we're actually selling good quality products, with soft materials and a good print. We're not really in this to make a quick buck; if you guys are asking for merch, we want to deliver something worth buying, not something cheap and crappy. So we put in a lot of time to nail it.

Will you do other merch items?

Yes. Absolutely we will. We want to do things like winter hoodies, mugs, hats, maybe even mouse pads and so on.

But we wanted to start with a manageable collection of high quality products and then start work on other things that we can roll out over time. So stay tuned, this is just the beginning.

We also want to offer Patreon-exclusive merch items or bonuses. We'll work on that to reward you guys who have been supporting us for so long.

That's it.

Hope you enjoy the merch, there's much more to come! And we'll have more to say in our official launch video on the channel soon.

When you do release the socks and jocks range, will they contain benchmark bar charts, and will they contain a footnote *Longer is better...?
