Heads up for you guys for the reactions! The show has very little exposition! It’s your first time watching so there’s a whole lot you won’t understand or notice, just take it all in and enjoy without worrying about commenters being shitty and judgmental Some things to maybe watch for that will help explain the weirdness a bit: 1)The show is deeply Freudian (the author was in therapy at the time of writing for severe depression) so lots of strong metaphors involving mothers (LOL), phallic imagery and sex. Character motivations are tied into desire and relationships between parents and children 2) Similar to Hunter x Hunter and One Punch Man the show is both a satire and deconstruction of anime (particularly mecha anime) so while you don’t need to be too familiar with the genre a lot of the story will be breaking down these tropes and building them back up (for instance there’s a specific reason the Eva’s are piloted by kids in this as opposed to other mecha anime where it’s just to have a child protagonist) 3) Fans can be very obnoxious and get angry when people misinterpret things. Don’t worry about understanding everything! Just try to have a good time!

FYI the original release of the show had some cool iconic outro songs that Netflix couldn't get the rights to the music for. If you have another source I believe it would have them. Not a huge deal though and I'm not sure what other source options there are in the states.

Chris man, you didn't have to come after me with the boxes comment. One thing I'll note, at one point Micky said "why are they called Angels, that seems like it would be the word for a good thing" or something similar - think Biblically-accurate Angels. Sachiel, the Angel we see in Eps 1&2, is probably the most normal Angel you're going to see. These dudes are weird, and over time they will get much, much weirder. THAT's why they get called Angels. Also because Japanese culture has just as much of an interest in exotic ideas from somewhere a long way away that we do. So calling them Angels is a bit like if a show made in the US talked about Shinigami - it's to make it more exotic. Very excited to see where this reaction series goes

Episode 1 probably has a different tag since they had to change the names of stuff. Just go back a week and it will be there I assume. This show won't hit youtube for a few weeks though (if at all).

End of Eva absolutely 100%. The Rebuild movies could be fun if they want more Eva goodness, but they're not exactly required viewing if you've already had your fill. And Death and Rebirth isn't really necessary to waste time recording and editing a whole reaction video for it, since it's mostly recap and part of EoE.
