I'm just gonna say it. The animation quality in this episode is on par, if not better than Mugen train. Probably one of the most beautifully animated episodes of anime I've ever seen. Those camera angles. Oof. So good.

Lol at Tanjiro "believing in himself" to win in season 1. Did they get Demon Slayer confused with Naruto? He didn't talk-no-jutsu and believe in himself to beat everyone with a Rasengan like Naruto. He had to outsmart nearly every demon he faced in season one to beat them. He couldn't even beat his strongest opponent in season one. Giyu had to save him. Edit: Also, props to Suraj for noticing Ufotable's sound design. People always comment on the animation, but Ufotable's sound design is just as good if not better.

Yeah no, I feel like you're lowkey attacking Naruto to defend Tanjiro and I wont stand for it lol. Naruto literally outsmarted everybody he's ever fought (With the only exceptions i can think of right off the top of my head being Haku and Orochimaru) Talk no jutsu might've definitely played a PART, but the deciding Factor of the fights were always lowkey Naruto outsmarting his enemies. Its even evident in his nickname: The #1 Hyper-active MOST UNPREDICTABLE Knuckhlehead Ninja. Come on now lmao

Even if Tanjiro gets Gyuutaro’s head there’s no point cuz the other 2 have to get Daki’s head at the same time not like getting his head is gonna be any easy lol he’s literally Upper moon 6 by himself

Love Demon Slayer but so far this season has given me 2 critisisms. 1 being It has definitely fallen into what I consider one of the worst Shonen tropes being that nothing can really be finished with out the protag. I'm all for the whole will power thing but if they where dead set on Tanjiro being in this fight they should not have wounded him how/when they did. Even more so because the series tries to make it a point that humans aren't supernatural and even with Total concentration constant Rengoku couldn't heal his fatal wound, but Tanjiro (who should have been completely bisected) can still run around. 2 isn't so bad but I think they're leaning too heavily on some gags, namely Zenitsu's sleeping. I can take it when he passed out from terror, and the Mugen train dealt with a sleep status attack. Now he's running around town and giving hero speeches completely unconscious, after specifically making him go through a four month training time skip and telling us he doesn't throw tantrums when he goes out alone anymore. I think it would have been better if he at least did some cool stuff while awake and then passed out or got knocked out in the fight.

Agree with your first criticism. Completely disagree with the second criticism regarding Zen. At least so far. But i can see it being annoying 4 seasons in if this continues. Or worse, the final arc of the series lol.

Do we really want them to watch it though? Fate isn't too complicated but it does require you to pay attention and be able to recall certain details to fully enjoy the show. Fate isn't the type of show you can turn your brain off and enjoy especially Zero and HF. Even Blind Wave had some trouble initially.

Likewise haven't read the manga so I don't know how he's developed beyond here. I'm not saying he needs to be nearly as badass as when he's asleep, just you know. Do at least a little something. It's at least consciously mentioned he only knows the 1 form. Even if it's notably weaker or dumbied down I think it'd at least show some growth if he does it while awake.

I am personally fine with the sleep thing, though i particully get annoyed with animating this stupid nose bubble to show he's sleeping, his eyes have been closed for 2 episodes, we know he is sleeping.

@Benjamin I see where you are coming from with wanting to see awake Zen at least just hold his own in a fight, as opposed to just showing up to a fight already asleep. That's fair.
