Hey Normies!

We have decided to not waste any more of the editor's time on Cowboy Bebop: Live Action, so the rest of the episodes (5-10) will only go on patreon and our website as uncuts. We came to this conclusion for a few reasons:

  1. The show got cancelled few days after first season aired which, RIP
  2. It's the worst performing reaction we put on the channel again, RIP
  3. Reception was generally negative when we posted the first episode and the numbers continue to stagnate around 4-7k avg.

We are not sure if they will be up before or after our company wide holiday break next week. As always, we will keep you guys updated! :)

We are so sorry for any inconvenience for people who were excited about this show, with  this being our livelihood, we are not going to continue to water something that won't grow.

xx

Re_Cordy

I respect the realness lmao.

Drakuse

Thank god

nadir anaflous

I get the choice it’s regrettable because the latter part really kicks off in the season but I guess we will just have to synch our own copies for it

Looks fair to me, this show doesn’t deserve any better imo🤣

I agree with Drakuse

J. J.

Appreciate you guys being up front about this, I don't think too many people will be disappointed haha

Sonicluis

Lol no worry, this show was trash anyway. I wonder how you guys like it so much. The curse of anime to live action continues.

I respect your decision. Series was good I enjoyed it and would watch a season 2. Thought it was in filmable before release do just impressed it held up. Still a good season.

Rough but understandable. Really enjoyed the show but totally get why you want to maximise your editor's time. On another note, I'd like to say thank you for reacting to it in the first place. It was really fun to see your various takes on it. I wish more people had given it the chance you did.

MikeWest

I have never and will never leave brigadey, negative feedback on your guys' stuff, but yeah, money move probably.

Kamina 1

The amount of people that respect this move, but cried about Dexter being dropped from the schedule is hilarious. Smart decision in both instances Normies 👌

PKKite

Shouldve just did the original anime instead if yall haven't before.

thenormies

We learned from the Dexter mistake and improved our response. It all boils down to transparency. <3

Zachary Provenzano

I was like wtf cowboy bebop why you canceling it then read live-action. And realized lmao live Action of anime is literally almost always horrible

Oscar C

Can y’all maybe drop idk 3 Naruto episodes each week instead😈

Bisibia

right? they're like "this shit is making us look bad" and i feel them

Rekway

xD

MojoJojoGojo

I'm glad together united we stop abominations like the live action to continue. Glad you saw reason Normies. Lol jk personally you dropping Dexter and this has made me satisfied...I got no worries against it

It really became clear to me when watching live action Cowboy Beebop why it's extremely difficult to adapt anime to live action. Besides the usual story issues revolving around live action adaptations, everything about the show looked off to me and it's like that with a lot of live anime adaptations. This is a problem for me with live action adaptations of western cartoons as well. The fantasy visuals you're accustomed to in animation will almost always clash with the realism of live action film, imo. I feel only the most grounded in reality anime like "Monster" or "Grave of the Fireflies" could be adapted properly to live action.

Adam Vialpando

How about instead or reacting to this you react to Samurai Champloo instead.

Chaos T

I continue to vote for it when it shows up on the poll.

s4ean

I happen to think the Rurouni Kenshin films were adapted to live action quite well... a good blue print for how it should be gone about. Alita: Battle Angel was decent as well.

MisRule

Thank you.

I had no interest in this show, but you set a really sh!tty precedent when you do this. There are other shows that might dip in viewership or have a rough stretch (all shows have bad arcs) - do we need to worry about other favorites being canned midway?

KimKaiRen

Black Lagoon pls 🙏🙏

jblakk

Slippery slope fallacy. This was canceled due to the perfect storm of negatives that come with this specific reaction, not JUST the views of the reactions. Chill on the alarmism mate.

iJashin

Adam is speaking the Language of the Gods in here

Shockzz1234

Well they’ve already cancelled shows because of low viewership before like Batman the animated series. Which I’m still annoyed about till this day lol.

HIM

I 2nd the Black Lagoon suggestion lol no this show was a mistake through and through. They will not become rttv after this lmao 😂

SnorlaX

i've been asking for Magic School Bus since grade school. im now graduating high school

Sickleweed

It's not as popular here in the States but the Gintama live action movies were a solid adaptation as well. The production team clearly understood and maybe even loved the source material and it really showed in the la adaptation. Gintama is one of those animes that is hard to imagine could be adaptable to live action but they quite succeeded.

Nick A Sam III

Seen plenty of reaction channels cut shows I was following midway. Happens a lot to Code Geass, a show they’re reacting to, right now. Every time that’s happened, I dropped my subs and marked those channels to not be shown on recommendations or my feed

BigTastey

😢 Didn't hear that it got cancelled. Sad, well I really enjoyed the live action show. I think it is great on its own and was looking forward to season 2. The anime and the live action can be appreciated each separately for what they bring and make you feel watching them. I understand, you guys got to do what works for you.

Foxyguava

They basically took all the bad stuff from the old 90's totally rad extreme commercials (wide or fisheye esque lenses, and ridiculously tilted shots) and mixed it with extremely cheap BBC show style, and made a monstrosity visually. Like watching Battlefield Earth. And the writing was just bad... not because it didn't follow the same story, but because they seem to have chosen the least emotional and and most awkward dialogue and actions. I honestly think if you just got a much better director/writer and cinematographer, the three main actors would kill it.
