I really enjoyed the character development this season. It's kind of hard to give a full cast of characters the spotlight. Subaru, Emilia, Garfiel, Beatrice, Roswaal, and even Ram and Otto to a degree. I like how it forced the characters into a situation where they needed to grow in order to overcome rather than just force that development on them. Each had there own problems and way of doing things. But thematically, its pretty consistent, and I really like how it ties it all together in the end. Granted, it is not without its fair share of flaws. Staying only in the sanctuary can make the story feel stagnant, like we're not really accomplishing anything. There are also a lot of loose ends that get brought up but never resolved (like the witches, Emilia's parents, the archbishops and witch's cult, etc). The adaptation also has problems with leaving out pieces of information here and there that might have made things more clear. Overall, I think the spirit of the work was presented well. And I hope Season 3 doesn't take another four years to come out. Thank you all for the amazing reaction series. Until next time.

I agree but I think that the feeling of stagnation by staying in the sanctuary actually helps with the narrative, at least in hindsight. For about the first 8 episodes, both Emilia and Subaru were constantly hitting their own dead ends; they really were not accomplishing much of anything. But it was an important stage so their character development can really shine through, especially Emilia

We finally reached the end of the Re:Zero reactions (until S3, which is  a high likelihood of coming out, since Kadokawa Director Sho Tanaka was confident we'll be clamoring for a S3 after this one and said to "Please look forward to it."  I know this reaction hasn't exactly been easy for you guy's. And a lot it you've all been confused, missing things, misinterpreting, inserting your own head canon's, until it's either made more clearer for you guy's or we ourselves make it clear. And not to mention the criticism from a good few from those things mentioned and the switching of the sub to dub.

Neither less to say, I actually enjoy your reactions to this series. And actually found it enjoyable when you guys were mindf*cked over something. XD Just know, that there are those of us that really want you  to enjoy this series and want to help you understand on what makes this show good and special to us and what makes Subaru one of the best written characters in Novel and Anime, despite his flaws. The series will really start to pick up more next season (beginning of Arc 5)  and I really hope you'll all stick around to see it. Thanks for reacting. (PS. I'm ticked that Patreon deleted my previous comment above and making me comment again. It seems to do that after I type a certain amount of words. I hate this bug.. since I have to break this up in two separate comments :( )

@Mystic_Referee, you mean why are anime fans hilariously passionate, empathetic, patient, and transparent? I don’t think most anime fans are to be honest, but Jesse is just a straight G and deserves credit for his informative comments throughout the show. (:

Something bad does happen in the web novel and light novel it just wasn’t shown here and most likely wouldn’t be added in a directors cut or ova but if it does I suggest checking it out (if you are still interested in the series) basically Ryuzu shima you guy noticed she used echidnas voice in episode 24. This is cause as roswaal said in this episode he found that he could transcribe his souls Onto people with a high affinity to him (this referring to direct decedents of his) now to go back to echidna remember how we learned echidna created the Ryuzu clones. So theoretically they have a high affinity to her, so echidna places a tiny piece of her soul into Ryuzu shima back when she accidentally took the trial (where we learned the story of the sanctuary) and slowly over the past decade it’s taken her over, and it took her over completely in that moment Where echidnas voice is heard.

Anyways at the end of the web novel for arc 4 basically we get essentially a scene after this episodes final scene where Ryuzu shima is walking and, we quickly realize she is not Ryuzu shima, talking about how she hasn’t felt the sun and snow on her face for centuries, but that joy only lasts a few minutes, then she is already bored again after achieving her centuries long goal of escaping her dream realm. Then the chapter ends here’s a direct quote -Even beautiful flowers shall wilt. Why must the flowers wither? Are even the beautiful memories shared between people destined to wane? “—Ahh, why must love fade?” Muttering, her long pink hair swaying, the girl steps forth. Again the WITCH is unleashed on the world.-

Wow I wasn't expecting a double drop! Nice little treat

We deserved a happy ending after all the bad stuff we went through with this season. Way more gruesome than season 1. Way more intense moments. It was nice to see subaru and emilia happy and together after they went through all that development.
