Finally we're dusting off our last adventure with the Star Wars films! Can't believe just two years ago most of us hadn't seen any Star Wars movies. This one was definitely not as bad as some of the critics made it out to be when it was first released.

star wars was great because it was so different. now they are too afraid to take risks. i feel like the mega fans can't separate the entertainment from their own personal fantasies.

Different? Idk... It's a story as old as time. If by different you mean "this version of this story has lightsabers and spaceships instead of spears and swords" I guess so. No shade

Yall definitely need to watch the series Fleabag starring and written by Phoebe Waller Bridge. Its the best comedy show of the past few years.

Star Wars is all poetry and some fan edits do a really good job showing how certain things tie in across all eras. Would this be something the Normies might consider?

The reason this movie did not do well at the box office is mostly because of two things. 1Last Jedi: The hype for going into the Last Jedi, and the unbelievable let down that movie turned out to be. They final season Daenerys Targaryened that movie. Nothing made sense compared to everything that lead up to that movie. 2 Star Wars fatigue. They had a new movie every six months and after Last Jedi, people were not willing to waste more money on the box office. Safer to rent the next filler movie or watch some other time. It is a shame as it is a pretty good film. I enjoyed it. I also think because it was good it helped the next movie's box office returns. Last Jedi box office results as well are not because people actually liked that film, it was because of the film done before and people expecting a continuation of that story line. Expecting answers to things like, Who is Snoke? Where did the first order come from? What happened to the Empire and Republic after episode VI? Who is Rey's parents? Instead we got new questions. What the hell happened to Luke's character development? Now he is acting like a scared idiot teenager again, what?

I'll be honest, I'm not a huge fan of star wars so I haven't seen this yet. So I'll watch it for the first time with you guys

This came out after The Last Jedi and the community was torn on that. That infighting carried over to the last couple of films. For me, it's not the best star wars movie in the world but was still pretty enjoyable.

Wouldn't recommend it until they've watched all of Clone Wars. Many of those fan edits bring up stuff from late TCW and also Rebels

@untzillax True, realized that after I watched a few again last night lol. However, with the High Republic coming out maybe the Old Republic cinematic trailers would be something they might like to see. Those are really well done with no spoilers for any official canon piece.

This was a great reaction. Solo is a really fun movie despite criticisms, and I think people coming in with lowered expectations helped a lot. Some of the reactions were so funny, I lol'd a bunch of times just at the stuff you were saying. Great stuff all, looking forward to the next Star Wars thing

I liked jaded old luke. in a moment of weakness he acted like a jedi instead of a man who loved his nephew and he resented himself for it. the only thing luke truly feared is himself. which is wise when you are the most powerful space wizard alive

Acted like a Jedi? He wouldn't kill Darth Vader (the guy who personally slaughtered all the younglings) because he saw a chance for him. Yoda said he would only be a Jedi by confronting vader, which he did by not choosing the dark side to kill him. Yet with his nephew he decides to kill him because he "might" turn to the dark side one day. Makes no sense, even mark hamilton said the luke in the last jedi was not the character from star wars. He had to think of him as a different character and just give the director what he wanted for HIS vision.
