Up until now The Wire has been an excellent show, but from here on it enters the upper echelon of great television shows. Congrats on making it this far it’s about to start getting real out here.

On to season 3 baby! This show only gets better from here

Pat is hilarious - how do you simultaneously want a documentary about how witness protection works and perfectly understand the significance of the pi tattoo?!

JD

The sync up timing is like 20 seconds wrong on this one. You don't even hear the HBO intro, its already into the episode! First you stop showing the HBO intro which makes syncing up way harder, now it's not even close to the countdown you provide. It was already annoying not being able to see the intro, at least get the timing right.

The Normies Staff

Hey JD, I understand your frustration about the uncut. It is an oddly long amount of time for the sync point, but that's the first clean frame that enters without a dissolve from another shot. I usually use the HBO intro as a sync point for uncuts, but unfortunately that wasn't possible for me on this uncut due to the timing of the episode and where I could sync it with the episode while editing. However, I realize that I didn't change my prompt for the syncing, and that was an oversight on my part. I'm going to export and upload a new version of the uncut with a prompt that hopefully describes the sync point better. Thanks for being patient with me! -Dustin, The Editor.

Pat had a revelation there, good on him!

Never imagined The Wire could be such a great show for reactions. I think the fact that you guys have a large group helps a lot. Hoping to see Micky in the room with the rest for season 3 onward since we now have the new setting with the black room.

Eduardo Gonzalez

Season 3 and 4 has some really great moments, can’t wait for the reactions !

Now time for my favorite season

thenormies

What up yall!! Well it took me a while but here it is. Here are all of my missing talking points from episode 2x3 - 2x6! Enjoy! https://youtu.be/0B6p8uDGITo thanks for the love and support! - Micky -

I've heard some theories that he might be Armenian. But it also really doesn't matter in one sense because The Greek is ultimately just Capitalism in human form more than he's a product of any nationality.

Laura

I'm finding it hard to think of any comment this week that isn't a spoiler. So excited for season 3 - it always takes me by surprise just how good it is, and there are some new characters who are real fan favourites.

Edit.... remind me to repeat this comment in three months! ........So... been waiting a long time for this next season 3. I know Marketa is a teacher at heart. I first watched season 3 over a summer before I moved from being a science teacher to an administrator in an urban district. Season 3 is heartbreaking, and eye opening, and is 100% accurate about what goes on in schools in the inner city. I am so excited to watch this with you guys!!

Nicholas Reed

I think the implication with The Greek is that he's Cypriot.

Alex Dystopia

I don't think it's technically corruption in the FBI. He said the Greek is an 'asset' to them. That's just like Bubbles working for the police as a CI, just on a whole different level. Everything above board I suspect.

You are off by a season. That is season 4. Next season is politics.

Ohhhh International Brotherhood of Stevedores! I thought Chris was chanting IBS because the raw egg and beer was going to give them irritable bowel syndrome lol

Acash33

Yea stringer proving why Avon is in charge here. Avon also sees the problem of letting another kingpin in their territory who’s also their supplier.

Acash33

You guys are missing Avon is about business. Avon just understands the life they’re in you need your rep on the streets or you put a target on yourself. The business is the streets they would be run over. Also Avon is fine without stringer season 1 most of the whole setup is Avon ideas. Stringer was actually the one that screwed up in season 1. The streets see any weakness and you’ll have gangs going after the towers.

Dinero

I think Pat is secretly a genius but he says dumb stuff to throw us off and then occasionally hits us with his big brain knowledge

Ryan

Season 2 is egg and beer, Season 3 is Hennessy. If in Season 5 its dope and coke in the same syringe things will have taken a very dark turn

David Simon talks about this season being super important not just for that but for the fact that it shows that the drug and crime problem isn't just something that Black communities participate in and are affected by. We saw a predominantly white new cast of characters that got absolutely wrecked as a side effect of the drug and prostitution trade. We watched the slow death of a working-class industry and the pressure that puts on everybody. This is such a strong lynchpin season. Any of you who are rewatching should check out the book "All the Pieces Matter" by Jonathan Abrams for more inside stuff like that. Micky, you'd especially love the audiobook. These are my favorite Pat reactions too. It's fun watching him go back and forth through the full range of strong opinions and talking himself out of it because the show is so nuanced. He went from full "don't snitch" in season 1 to "Nicky better snitch" by the end of this season. You guys all did a great job approaching this season with an open mind. It's not until season 3 that people realize that the scope of the show increases every season to show you a bigger picture of how Baltimore operates, but you guys got that right away and seem to enjoy it so much more because of that. You're gonna have a blast in season 3.

The Greek is most likely from Cyprus imo

Kiana B.

omg y'all really did it lol. made my day.

Kiana B.

Kiana B.

i'm so hype for season 3 and 4 omg.

Kiana B.

lol @ someone saying last season went into to politics and stuff, just you wait!

2 seasons in and you guys learn to love some of the recurring cast for now, but I can't WAIT for you to see the new cast for the next 3. It's gonna be a ride!

David Porter

As some others pointed out, The Greek is likely Cypriot or possibly Armenian (not that it matters at all – he’s a personification of capitalism). One thing I will say, however, is there were some people suggesting he may be Turkish himself. I doubt it because he seem to have real repulsion toward Turks when he killed the man from the Atlantic Light. He even says “Turkos…they bleed like lambs.”
