I'm sorry for those bias fans that wanna be so gung ho about Vikings but this writing is sooo fcking weirdly bad. They have decent story threads like Ubba and even Ivar (a little) but the whole storyline with the Kattegat and such I just don't know what was the point of most of it's continuation for the remainder of the story does, I got mad love for Vikings (even tho I love Last Kingdom more) but watching this story from the beginning it had a plot point that kept going and now...it's just an ends to a mean it seems like. Sorry for who I offended. BUT this is my opinion

Yeah, it seems they threw out conventional writing in favor of a more metaphorical approach to the exploration of humanity. The cinematography is carrying the season so far. I can appreciate the philosophical themes enough to overlook the poorer plot. Vikings, for me, has always been a show that has a lot of depth that is missed in the initial viewing; however, it seems with this last season the story is becoming about as frayed as the Viking society. The sagas were always unreliable tales, perhaps that's what they're trying to encapsulate in this last season as chaos descends on the Lothbroks.
