Fred dies in the following book. He didn't do much in that book and his death was anti-climactic. This version of events is better.

One little thing you guys missed, they said the Martian Parliament building was bombed at the beginning when Alex and Bobbie are watching the news. No asteroids for Mars, I'm guessing some planted bomb or something. Also I don't think "the Pit" is in Pittsburgh, I think it's called the Pit because it's an underground prison and I'm guessing it's either in Maryland or Virginia.

Also I live in Philly, so Marco Inaros might have just killed me with the rock that hit 40 kilometers northwest of Philadelphia. Probably a direct impact on Allentown PA. I'm curious how large impact was since 5-10 megatons should be survivable 40 kilometers from the impact, but a 20 megaton impact or more would destroy a lot of Philly. I have to say it's cool when a sci-fi show mentions where you live.

Great episode and appropriate title. Gaugamela is Alexander the Great's most famous battle where he used crazy tactics to defeat an army nearly three times the size of his. The battle also represented a sea change in global politics as Alexander the Great in one day became the defacto king of the known Greek world.
