Omg... Marketa.. Chris.. thank you for saving the day with your input... I feel like there’s a spectrum.. and that Delilah is not necessarily fictitious.. but she’s very rare in terms of her reaction.. How she feels though, like all of us, is so.. so valid.. like, guys... is it really hard to believe.. regardless of your current close friends portraying this behavior, that men are so, so fucking pushy and relentless.. so many men at the bar scene.. when you go out.. a good portion, maybe a majority, are pushy in some capacity... we get it even at the most non social places, like gas stations, while out shopping.. and yes, sometimes it’s just a really subtle flirting and its fine, but I’m telling you, we deal with so much unwanted behavior.. as in we ignore.. or we flat out verbally say we’re not interested.. and guys still do not let up.... I’m honestly very straight forward.. and I still deal with so many men not letting up. My usual routine consists of me telling them nicely but explicitly that I’m not interested.. and then having to graduate to something more blunt and stern... and preparing for a possible outburst.. usually it results in them acting pissy and walking away but not confronting me. But boy.. have I had confrontations. Personally nothing physical.. but almost all my friends have. This is not some hyperbolic world we live in. So sorry if some of us are super on the defense about it.. most of us really do try to communicate in honestly too nice of way.. because we’re met with assholish reactions otherwise.. the salty severely sarcastic attitude of Delilah.. is what assholes would like to portray us all as, when it’s a serious minority.

There are 100% girls like Delilah in California. It’s not fake at all. A girl I know recently asked my guy friend about what she should do about her crush for a guy at her job. And my guy friend said “you should ask him out. That’s what guys do but you can do it too.” And when she got home she blocked my friend. And she was talking about “omg I have anxiety and I’d never do that. He’s so insensitive.” They were close friends for 4 plus years too. In general I know many girls like Delilah in California. Also there are 40 million god damn people in California. So all the Delilahs are probably all crowed in here.
