I don’t know if it was script direction or an acting choice, but Iain saying “You are weak” and “It was me” with the exact same cadence is such a low key brilliant move, just to have that audible connection between the Doctor and Fitz and reinforce that lack of separation. Also, as another reactor Jimmy Macram pointed out, the reveal was done so fearlessly by the writers. They didn’t blame all the bad stuff on the Doctor, they waited until Fitz knew exactly what he was doing and then made him operate. Just an amazing episode. This is why we are fans.

Enoch clearly said in Season 5 episode 5 to Fitz that his team was sent to 2091 earth years. So basic math would have been easy to figure out then it was no way possible Deke could be their son... This is just a perfect example of the times you guys are talking over the dialogue and missing stuff.

Fitz reverted to his season 2 self once the Doctor showed up. Iain is a brilliant actor and the writers have done an amazing job with Fitz. I really admire the bold decisions that they take when it comes to the characters, especially Fitz and Daisy.

https://youtu.be/GP4fJpUxdho Foreshadowing of Fitz’s break. The point were Fitz realized what he was doing is the point you hold him accountable. You can’t say he should have told daisy because he himself didn’t realize what was going on until that point. His subconscious (were the Doctor lies figured it out before him and made the plan.) Micky is right. By the time he realized what was happening Simmons was at gun point so he had to choose continuing or letting her get shot and everyone else die from the fears die. He chose her. At that point he embraced the doctor which he has been fighting since he left the framework. The side that will do anything to protect the world. That doesn’t mean he should be forgiven but his intentions were still good.

Deke said the wedding ring his mom had was given to her by her Mother... Quick line, I know, but no, they weren't trying to trick you with that line. It was meant for you to believe Deke's Grandma wore it first, and knowing that Deke is the one that found it in the first place means it was always being hinted that he was their grandson, not son. But also, everyone freaking out in the comments needs to chill lol

Deke's mom: "My mom said it to me"... moments later, Simmons says the thing. "after you grandpa"

Same, this was the reaction I was most looking forward to of the entire show, and their actual reaction was highly disappointing.

These AOS reactions are a great example of how group composition really affects the quality of reactions. I mean, the Normies are one of the more popular reaction groups because you guys have a lot of diverse opinions, but when you guys have the wrong lineup of people for a show, that quality tends to vanish. Mob mentality tends to take over, and the most outspoken person *cough*Chris*cough* will convince everyone else to follow along, even if they are laughably wrong. I think that's the real reason you guys missed the obvious with Deke. Some of you guys caught on early that Deke might have been FitzSimmon's grandson, but rather than rolling with that, someone got the idea that Deke was actually their son and managed to swing everyone else's view. If you guys had just talked it out, it would have become obvious, but instead, you just kind of decided to agree and ignored all information that contradicted that assumption. Because, like, I know Rana would have never missed that on her own. She's been locked in since Day 1, and has always seemed to be in tune with what the writers are trying to convey from episode to episode. But then someone like Chris, who's a huge cynic that steadfastly refuses to give the writers the benefit of the doubt, comes in and steamrolls her, and manages to convinces her she's wrong. That's where I really miss Nahid in reactions like these. Right or wrong, he is rarely affected by the viewpoints of the rest of the group. Most of the best debates they've had about shows has been Nahid going against the group, and damn, could this group use him right now. Because these AOS reactions are suffering right now. They are getting in the way of their own enjoyment, and missing out on great moments because of it.

I think your being a little harsh there trent. The important thing they needed to grasp was that deke was related to them. The specifics don’t take away from the episodes they missed too much. You could see them connect the dots in hindsight. They still caught on to the little nods of the bonding and similarities between deke and Fitz. The main reason they missed the most obvious hint at the wedding was because of them being excited for the show and missing the next part of the line. This lead to the assumptions. We should be happy that they are that excited.

Only stating my opinion so that you know there are some of us who did enjoy your reaction. Everyone is allowed their own opinion, whether we enjoyed the reaction or not but i definitely did enjoy it.

Talk about making a mountain of a molehill. Yes, they came up with a wrong (and ridiculous) narrative about Deke-FitzSimmons. But they were not even critical of the show for that. They simply embraced the ridiculousness and enjoyed the show. How is that not enough to suggest how much they like the show or the writing of the show? Also, its because they "missed" the obvious hints/statements, is why they believe that there weren't enough hints. Some of y'all are actually funny and chill with your comments about the Deke misunderstanding, but then there are some who are being really harsh. We should at least be polite with our negative opinions.

I took a shot the past few reactions every time they called Deke Fitzsimmons son. And yes I died multiple time over😂 love the reactions guys. Looking forward to that double drop next week

Been reading some of the comments and luckily most of you are sane. I'm just gonna say this once- The Normies are not always going to react exactly how you want them to react. And if that happens, it does not make it a "bad" reaction"- it just means that they are different than you. And it gives you a wonderful opportunity to comment here or hit them up on discord and have a lively debate to try to change their minds about something. I'll admit- I have my own pet peeves about some things... like if they say "The writing is so bad and this makes no sense!" simply because the characters are behaving in a way that they disagree with (The Normies have made this argument while watching the end of GoT and during The 100- and I vehemently disagree with them- human beings are messy and inconsistent- proven by even the Normies' reactions to things- one moment their like "Kill that motherfucker" and the next moment they are like "How could she do that?- that's so WRONG!" Suraj himself said he doesn't like the Ruby storyline after seeing her for one episode (but then the rest of the normies were quick to point out that it was tooo soon and he didn't even know where it was going yet... and Suraj didn't harp on it for like 5 minutes- it was just one comment, so who the fuck cares...) I went off topic a little bit, but I had an intent- I think there's a way to state your opinion/ disappointment in something The Normies says or does in a healthy, constructive way. Notice I didn't say "Fuck Suraj- he's an idiot- how dare he make assumptions based off one of one episode!"- because lets be honest.... has anyone here NOT been into a storyline (for whatever reason) and then it took a few episodes to get us interested once the story came together? Season 4 is amazing but in the beginning, I was like "Who the fuck are these ghost people... this is stupid- am I watching Supernatural?" (not a criticism on Supernatural by the way, it just felt out of place in AoS). And then that storyline was absolutely integral to the rest of the season so in hindsight, you're like "Ok I get it now, that was great"...

AHH IT'S CLICKING IT'S CLICKING lol i really loved this reaction. i love the moment with the fitz reveal bc it felt like a bucket of cold water got dropped on everyone and that's exactly how it felt watching it live. i loved the slow realization after daisy said "who are you talking to?" (a line that STILL haunts me to this day). i loved that the couch was immediately split on what this means bc the fandom was (and still is to this day) split too. i love that there's understanding along with the judgement though and how you put together that his brain injury from way back at the end of s1 is still in play! this was a great reaction. ALSO CONGRATS ON FIGURING OUT THE GRANDPARENTS THING FINALLY LOL. deke DID say his mom got the ring from her mother but you all were so excited about the reveal that by that point you were screaming over it and didn't hear him lol. but he very much did say that. hope you all had a merry christmas (if you celebrate!) and happy holidays to all! see you next year!

OH OH OH ANOTHER THING!! this mental break of fitz's has been foreshadowed since the 5th episode of this season. when he was in jail one of his suggestions to what happened to the team was that he did something to them but didn't remember. also he was reading books about schizophrenia. these writers love their details.

ALSO, Iain is a brilliant actor. I loved your reaction to The Doctor mocking Fitz. I remember when I first watched that episode, and I demanded Iain get his Emmy! And another thing, obviously, this was all subconscious so Fitz didn’t even know what he was doing, but even if he did ask, I don’t know. I think that would’ve been a definitive “no” from Daisy. She said no to Coulson asking for her powers back so she would definitely say no to Fitz. Idk. Just a thought. Keep rocking!
