Missed thumbnail opportunity with Barlow's death. That was glorious.

great reaction, loved the hype at the end xD

The story of where Flint got his name is one of my favourite scenes in this show. Toby Stephens deserves so much praise for his acting, and every time I re-watch this series I get retroactively angry that it wasn't as popular as it deserved to be. You guys are in for a real treat going forward. Not only is the season 2 finale fucking amazing, but seasons 3 and 4 of Black Sails is some of the best television I've ever seen.

BrokeHighMan

This episode hits so hard, I love it!

AndreasZ

I already liked the show at this point but next episode was the one that made me realize i love it. And it just keeps going up from here with each season being better than the last. S4 is my favorite and it has maybe one of the best episodes of television ever. A lot of you probably know the one I'm talking about.

Suraj is missing out.

Dean Cyphers

But seriously though, where is Suraj?!?

Deviant Parker

Captain Hornigold actually became a pirate hunter in real life. Lots of golden age pirates took that deal. This show is very loosely historically accurate. They use real names and generally kind of sort of follow those people's stories or at least reputations. For example real life Vane and Ed Low were notorious for being cruel and violent. Also, Calico Jack really was well know for having women in his crew despite being kind of a joke compared to other pirates. Jack Rackham's flag is also the most famous one. It's right there on your table. Next episode is DOPE.

Some of the real historical characters you've met include : Charles Vane, Jack Rackham, Anne Bonnie, Hornigold and Ned Lowe. On the other hand, these ones are purely fictional : Flint, Silver, Eleanore, Max and Billy.

MrSkarred

Apparently Eleanore and her family are representative of a real family that lived near Nassau and made a fortune.

Love this episode and next one. Really elevated show. One of my favorites. Regarding what you said about society, I. A flashback I think in episode 2 of this season you see flint talking to hamilton at a pirate trial telling him that it's the society that is the problem not the pirates. In that scene you see the disgusting nature of society and crowd mentality. Also love the song in the outro of this episode so much.

Charlotte

This is such a great episode. I think the writing does a good job of showing how the misfits of society sometimes ended up on pirate crews. Historically pirates didn't care about sexuality so it became a place for gay men to live freely. Or a bi-racial former slave like Max or a non-conformer like Anne who wouldn't have been welcomed into "polite society". Places like Nassau became their haven. FYI, the eye-patch kitty on the table is giving me life.

Chris D. Jones

There’s a lot that’s historically accurate but it’s the big world events and how politics are handled. Character’s decision are very loosely interpreted

can we stop overhyping the show and let them enjoy it and be surprised?

Kyle Semenoff

The season 2 finale is, for my money, one of the finest hours of TV to ever air. The writing, the catharsis, the sheer acting prowess, the technicality of some of those shots. It's just a masterpiece from top to bottom.

MojoJojoGojo

I barely just found out this show got canceled after season 4...

Anonymous

It didn't get cancelled after season 4. It was announced before season 4 aired that it was the final season for the story.

Its kind of a shame that we had a full couch for the slow episodes in Season 1, but we only have 4 people for the best episodes...

Watching one of my all time favorite shows

Finales going be a littie tittie
