I think all film students have encountered Citizen Kane at some point - for good reason. Wether you enjoy it or not, it can't be denied that it is incredibly well-made.

The guy who created this show wrote for SNL and the Office and then created P&R, The Good Place and Brooklyn 99. That's why so many actors get re-used among those shows and why P&R, B99 and TGP all have an underlying sweetness that I just love. Michael Schur doesn't do much mean humor and I love that about his shows. Also, just a little interesting factoid, he and Rashida Jones (Ann) wrote that Bryce Dallas Howard episode of Black Mirror!

What makes Parks great is not just the humor, but the actual love and wholesomeness within the characters 💕 (and why I prefer it over the Office)

That's why I think it's objectively worse than The Office but why I enjoyed watching it more at the time it came out. The mundane, daily darkness is what makes The Office special. It shows us as we are while parks shows us as we want to be.
