When I started this I can't remember what the current episode was, but by the time I caught up, the current episode was at 3x9. Without spoiling anything, imagine my hype when I caught up at that point.

Kudos to anyone who recognized it was shoji's severed hand in front of moonfish last episode. I was about to cry the first time I saw it wondering if he was dead. Cheered my heart out to see him A) Alive and B) have an episode to shine a bit. Low key favorite character, cool design, large stature but unobtrusive in nature, competent but middling in terms of grades and scores, in part (I think) due to a somewhat awkward, unintuitive quirk that doesn't present a lot of obvious offensive abilities outside of his physical strength. But dude has a hero's heart, doesn't talk much but when [one of] his mouth speaks it's the truth. His support stat is off the charts. Swoon rant over.

I’m looking forward to seeing their reactions and discussions on 3x7 and 3x8 about the debate among the students. So many of the Normies have sided with the students acting first and thinking later that it should be fun to see what side of the debate they land on.

I’ve seen a lot of reactors to those scenes and the majority of them have sided with the students, which I have always found weird considering that All Might and the rest of the pros were given the tracker by Momo merely scenes before.

I think they are usually taken aback by the character design and discuss that immediately on the spot and that makes them miss out on important dialogue. Like when Twice was first introduced, only Chris was able to pick up on the fact that Twice probably had some sort of cloning quirk.

Loving the reactions. Already said this before but saying it again since I'm not sure how far in advanced you record reactions, but 3x9 3x10 3x11 should all be watched together. Regardless of how you release them they are best experienced together as a bunch. So even if you drop them as solo drops make sure you personally watch those 3 episodes together.

I think the Normies are too used to action shows where the character's morals are loosey-goosey and only come into play when the story demands it. In their 3x5 reaction, Markeeta was demanding that Tetsutetsu and Kendo murder the unconscious teenager that Tetsutetsu had just knocked out. Yes, he was a villain but that wouldn't be very hero like.

I like that Momo is levelheaded enough to know when to retreat and regroup, but I feel like it's starting to become a weakness as, more often than not, A heroes isn't always able to tag out with other heroes or have immediate reinforcements available. She has to stop thinking someone like Aizawa, Deku, or All Might will be there to save the day.

I think it depends on the situation with Momo. We saw her fight villains during the USJ incident and not run. She fought Eraser with Todoroki once her confidence was back. In this incident she seemed more concerned with finding and saving as many of her classmates as she could over finding a villain to fight. She got blindsided by a Nomu that knocked her unconscious and she was in pretty bad shape. I think making a tracker was the best thing to have done in that situation. I know All Might and Deku fight while injured, but Momo had a head injury and was barely conscious. I’m not sure she had the strength to try to stop Nomu from leaving let alone fight it.

Any thoughts on making this show a double drop per week? Season 4 begins in less than 2 months and you are almost 20 episodes behind, without the movie.

They would need to do 5 double drops and 3 triple drops in order to be caught up in time for Season 4, so I do not see that happening. Also MHA is one of their most profitable Patreon series (based on views, no real way to measure without actual metrics) so it would make sense for them to keep MHA as a premium series. Though once Season 4 starts, Naruto will probably overtake MHA as their most profitable Patreon series. At their current pace, 3x11 will drop mid-September and I anticipate a good number of people will drop their subscriptions since Season 4 will start in a few weeks from then and every other reactor will be putting out their Season 4 reactions for free on youtube.

Hmmm, I’ve always agree with Tsuyu’s reasoning though. I don’t necessarily think Aizawa would be the kind of person to tell his students to actively pursue the enemy if they have a chance to escape. So Tsuyu’s action makes sense to me although she should have worked together with Ochaco to actually battle Toga imo since they were in such close proximity already

Being filipino-japanese and growing up with anime since the mid 80's I have always watched anime in japanese. The MHA dub is actually great, I just personally feel like big moments in the anime are better in the sub/jap version. Like all might v nomu and deku v muscular are better in the sub in my opinion. I also prefer all the japanese voice actors, especially for Toga. Misato Fukuen just gives a nice edge to toga' s voice. I do prefer Chris Sabat for All Might tho. As much as i love Kenta Miyake, I feel like Chris Sabat's voice fits All Might better.

As a sub elitist keyboard warrior, MHA has one of the best dubs I have ever seen. While the dubs do a great job for the more emotional episodes, the subs really knock it out of the park. I highly recommend that in their spare time they watch 3x4, 3x11, and 3x23 in sub. I’d also like for them to go back and re-watch 2x10 and 2x17 in sub if they haven’t already. Todoroki’s Mom sounds way more motherly and Stain sounds way more consistent and menacing in the sub version.
