marketa and chris are back yay!!!! welcome back it's great to see such a full couch happy christmas to me! even though you're not on the couch all the time it's so good to know you're still keeping up with aos. happy to see certain fans on here haven't pushed you completely away from the show. i definitely feel you, chris, on your feelings on the stories vs characters. this is my favorite show but i feel like storywise it didn't get VERY strong until this season. i think you can see them learning what works and what doesn't every season. the "real shield" storyline lost me in s2 when it was airing and i fell out of watching it live and picked it back up towards the end. but with season 3 and onwards i watched live every single week with baited breath because it got so much better. the character writing, however, has been their strong point consistently though and is what kept me hanging on through my least favorite storylines. oh also the 100 WISHES it had shield's consistency lol that show is a whole-ass mess don't even get me started.

Chris and Marketa just keep an open mind when you watch this show. Most of the storylines are not season long so if you get bored of one then in a few episodes you may love the next. Also pay attention to the little things. Everything in this show is said for a reason. When you get to season 4 that’s when the show becomes unrecognizable.

Wow this was an awesome reaction and all the commentary was fair! Except for Nahid at the end... I get that it felt a bit tacked on there, but since 1 in 5 women get raped throughout their lives, it’s the least cliched thing out there. It’s not a matter of the world “painting men as bad” it’s fact.... rape culture exists (please please please don’t call me a freaking feminazi) I know you didn’t mean bad from it, but jumping to defend a group of clearly villainous characters when the narrative openly painted them as sexual predators against our own Agent May was kind of... disappointing to see. Other than that, the reaction was wonderful! Great to see Chris and Marketa giving it the old college try again. I totally get Chris’ opinions on season 2, even though I adored it, many people I introduced to the show found it rather choppy and slow since the writers were changing pace and style.

Great to see Chris and Marketa back again! I agree that season 2 had more focus on the characters than the stories. With the addition of three new main characters, I think the show struggled a little in season 2 to build the background on those characters while continuing to develop the ongoing story for the season. The bouncing between the two directives probably is what made the season feel a bit choppy and difficult to get invested in. But, this is a show in which the characters do drive the story, which I think is good because the stories then seem like a natural extension of the character's experiences. And as the characters grow, the stories will continue to get stronger until you unexpectedly find yourself fully immersed.

Yeah, it's good to have a variety perspective. That's what the Normies rock at. There are tons of one-person and two-person reactions for MAOS. WB Chris and Marketa, please stay. I'm truly interested to know how the evolution of the show sits with you. Obviously those of us who have mad love for the show are all in, no matter what variety of perspectives there are. And we had to go through similar things with our friends and whatnot on first viewing.
