Roy going CRAZY over here! Luckily in times like these you have your friends to keep you from going off the edge. So surprised to see SCAR of all people be the one to really pull him off from his crazy high horse. His character arc has been one of my favorites in this show.

Mustang's character arc basically culminated at this pivotal moment. He could've drowned in the "flames of vengeance", given into his "Wrath", and be no better than the enemies he was up against but thanks to the help of his friends and Scar, he was able to look "beyond the inferno" of it all and come back from it. Mustang set out to be a better man and leader for his country, and it meant so much that his friends stopped him, especially with Riza and her promise to Mustang that she would stop him if he ever deviated from his path. I also really love the fact that out of everyone, it was Riza that was able to make Mustang completely stop. It just says so much about their relationship and how much they mean to each other (regardless if it's romantic or platonic), and it's one of the main reasons why I enjoy their dynamic so much. As for Envy, despite getting what he deserved, I still have nothing but pity for him because in the end, he was just a sad and pathetic creature. Him committing suicide out of that sadness and self-loathing born out of his jealousy towards humans was honestly ironic.

ep. 53-54 are some of the best episodes in any anime I've ever seen. Great action, great animation and all those emotions.

The opening had me real worried for this episode with the Roy v Riza when I first watched it. I wasn't sure which one was the real one and the OP song and animation is so sad.

If you guys noticed, the homunculus' names have been there downfall. Gluttony was eaten, Envy was jealous of humans so he killed himself, etc.

The thing about mustang he looked terrifying when he was fighting Envy truly a monster but also if he's gonna be the highest law in the land it's not a good precedent to kill someone solely out of hate and for revenge I believe the thinking is once he gets a taste for it and sees how he can just eliminate his enemies what would stop him from doing that once he was the fuhrer where essentially no one could stop him
