These are great answers, and I am surprised how much I have stolen, sometimes word for word, from him when I try to explain these things. 

I really like his idea on why you would banish in an evocation - to get rid of all unwanted influences. So as an example,  if you want to write undisturbed,  you would banish social media distractions.
