It's a bit late for this but I was crumbling under a deadline, so...now for the most awkward post of the year!

You have about a week left to get your Nebula nominations in, the Locus Recommended Reading List is out, then Hugos to follow that (god willing and the fraud don't rise) and World Fantasy after that (did you know you can nominate for World Fantasy? You can!).

I didn't have a ton come out last year for reasons which will become clear when I can announce my Secret Project, but I do have two major works, if you want to consider them for your ballots.

Short Story: My anti-capitalism hyper-digital fable Can You Hear Me Now? at Uncanny Magazine. And AHHHH I was so surprised and excited to see it on the Locus List! As my only short fiction this year, I just didn't expect it at all, so I'm quite chuffed.

Best Related Work/Best Collection: As it's a collection, The Best of Catherynne M. Valente Vol. One from Subterranean would only be eligible for the Best Related Work Hugo and the Best Collection category in the World Fantasy Awards (as far as I know), but it is a monumental work of mine that came out last year.

As always, the important thing is taking part in the process, nominating, and voting. These awards only matter if people care, and caring about books is a very large good in this world.

Thank you, should anyone want to give these a nod.

I slammed “Can you hear me now?” onto my Nebula Recommendation list.

Is there a possibility that The Best of Catherynne M. Valente will be available again maybe in a less fancy edition for the people who missed it on Subterranean Press?
