Hello, my darlings.

It's been a hell of a month for me here at the old Laboratory. I'm finally within a chapter or two of finishing the book that's been hanging over my head since before I had Sebastian, so my mind has been in another world for weeks. But back here in this one, my grandfather is entering the last phases of his time with us, and I cannot be there because of COVID, and its been incredibly difficult, but as my family is pretty private, not something I've felt comfortable processing online where I process the rest of my glamtrashbrain.

It has only been quiet here as those two large portions of my life struggle for space in my soul. The Denizen this month has been particularly hard to write.

But the show must go on.

For those of you $10/month Voluntary Test Subjects, I have put off posting your work in progress excerpt, which usually goes up at the start of the cycle, for more cheerful reasons--because by posting it at the end of the month, you guys will get the first chapter of Space Oddity, the sequel to Space Opera, and I thought that might shed a little glitter on this strange summer, which rather desperately needs it. So sit tight!

As for the big ticket items, here we have our monthly poll to decide what I'll be reviewing for your pleasure--as always, with a preview as to the tenor of my opinion so no one's feelings get hurt. Choose your poison, and next week will be full of rewards, including a fresh new Livestream.
