Sokka the GOAT finally getting a Master feels so good

This is literally one of my favorite episodes~! Not only because of Sokka, but also the space sword and the lessons between him and his new master. A black blade looks super sick~ X3

Easily one of my fave episodes! The black space sword looks sick and Piandao has Iroh levels of wisdom. It is really cool to see how Sokka has progressed from someone who was sexist, disrespectful, and thought he was hot shit, to a humbler person who recognizes that he's a small frog in a large pond. Which is why I'll state that Sokka moments are easily some of the best moments in the show 🔥 Also people can actually use meteorite as material for a blade! However swords made from forged steel easily outclass swords using meteors as the sole material in durability as just one example. Most swords forged with space rocks have some sort of Damascus steel incorporated and the forge lines on the blades are absolutely stunning!

21:30 nobody really remembers that on first watch, it’s very cool because piandao was also zukos sword master. It isn’t stated in the show so I figure I’d say it here. But it’s very possible zuko also got it from him too haha

Great reaction! Love hearing your guesses on the future of the story, some of them are pretty good ;) can’t wait for you to finish, but it will also be bitter sweet! Every episode of this show has meaning, even the “fillers,” which I don’t even consider fillers for this show, bc it all really does matter. Enjoy the rest of the ride!

I will never get that, I love hearing people’s really bad guesses too, bc it makes it that more satisfying when they finally see what actually happens.

No one seems to have mentioned it yet, but there's an easter egg when Toph bends the space rock. One of the things she makes is the logo of Nickelodeon.

You know I used to think it was ridiculous that Sokka was that much more improved in a single day, but I forget that his younger sister mastered waterbending in like three days- and only took that long because she literally had no idea what she was doing. Both siblings have incredible physical talent and they both have insane battle IQ. Also this is just a fun thing I noticed, Sokka has to “bend” all four elements in order to forge his sword, which is great because he lamented earlier in the episode that he can’t do /any/ “amazing bending stuff”

Something that didn't occur to me until later was that: Because Suki schooled him in S1 E4, he had already realized that he wasn't "the best warrior from his village" (which is what Piandao thought he would lead with) and so it was a no-brainer that he needed to be honest and humble himself.
