How I Beat Factorio starting with Biters on 100% Evolution... (Patreon)
Content
Hi everyone :)
Behold the 10 minute recap of the side-project. It's 30 minutes long, of course, which is part of the reason it took a while to make. The remainder main reason is that I never intended to edit down the 10 hour side-project into a single main-project style 30 min video, which means I didn't plan ahead for things like the music and audio, or keeping as-lossless-as-possible files around... So yeah, I tried to hide most sudden audio jumps in the edit, but you may notice a fair few compared to my normal videos.
Well anyway, I think the video turned out nicely as a single release in the form of the "How hard is it to beat factorio when blablabla is the case" popularized by Dosh, mostly, and it also functions as a nice prequel to the post-launch series where we will get all achievements, eventually...
(of which the first 2 episodes have already been released here on Patreon, but not yet on youtube. I kinda edited myself into a corner when, in the opening episode, I proclaimed there would both be a 10h supercut and a 10 minute summary of the point up until launch. Well, the 30 minute 10 minute summary is finally done, and I made the 10h supercut a while ago, so I can get my upload schedule unstuck again :) (I didn't post seperately about the 10h supercut, it will probably be next week's youtube release, and you can early-watch it here:
-------------------------------
I have also been doing some practice runs and openings with warptorio, and I think I have a pretty good idea about which side-challenges I'm going to go for... Next paragraph contains SPOILERS on how I want to approach Warptorio:
Unlike I mentioned before, I AM going to go for a no-manual-warps run (until autowarp is fully disabled by tech), spending the maximum time on each planet... This is kinda clickbaity though, because there's no way to defend for that long, as you will need to spend like 5x your full resource intake on ammo, which is obviously impossible. So, while there's other aspect to that challenge, we will be hiding underground for the most part and avoid spending resources on killing biters. It just turns out to be by far the most efficient playstyle I have tried. The other challenges include completing the game in under 50 warps, and conquering the giant-nests home continent map (300% island size, which is enough to naturally spawn lots of behemoth worms before the world turns to ocean...)
Anyway, enjoy the vid :)
