PURE ONYX Inner Circle Test Release - December 4, 2020! (Patreon)
Content
Hey guys!
Here's the next Inner Circle test release for Pure Onyx!
The highlight is the new Splicer Boss (Street Lord Wraxe) combat test, which occurs at waves 20, 40, and so on. He's a complex enemy in a few ways, and has quite a few issues still, so please check out the Known Issues section before playing.
There are many other changes as well, including a lot of input improvements, bug fixes, and audio enhancements!

Change Log
- Added Street Lord Wraxe (Splicer Boss) for combat testing. He appears on Waves 20, 40, 60, etc. The Charger now appears on Waves 10, 30, 50, etc.
- Added friendly fire mechanic (Splicer Boss can hit enemies)
- The enemy wave system will continue to function past Wave 50
- Added boss encounter music + a boss health gauge.
- Remixed audio (no longer need to crank volume).
- Added background/ambient sound support.
- Added ambient audio to the Sewers test map.
- Players with sub-optimal FPS should encounter far fewer issues now.
- No more dropped input. Jumps and attacks always fire now.
- Should be harder to accidentally perform power attack / heavy punch (annoying since this plants Onyx in place). Still not ideal.
- Onyx should now never keep moving after you've released the movement key/button.
- Enemies will no longer slide for a mile when knocked down (was prevalent at low FPS).
- Onyx will no longer fire off a jump or attack when you exit the menu
- Enemies should no longer face the wrong direction when walking toward Onyx.
- Improved health gauge "follower" (white section of the gauge when damage is dealt).
- Overhauled offscreen enemy warning indicators to work properly on all resolutions.
- The loot window will no longer remain stuck on the screen if the shop NPC is selected while Onyx is near enough to loot to select it as well.
- Reduced global drop rate.
- Onyx can now dash for a longer period before skidding (raised from 0.3s to 0.5s).
- Stomp is now executed by holding down + tapping kick, instead of having to tap both simultaneously.
Known Issues
From now on I'm only going to include new and/or highly relevant issues in these posts, but will keep the full known issues list posted on the reward download page.
- Street Lord Wraxe's hitbox is not good, especially during his attack animations (Onyx's hits will usually miss when it looks like they should land). He's the first enemy to move a lot from his origin during animations, and this separates him from his collider.
- Street Lord Wraxe may become stuck while walking. He can be knocked out of it however.
- Due to Wraxe's large size, Runts bumping into him may push him upwards since they can get underneath his collider.
- It's possible to bug out an H scene by spamming jump just as Onyx is grabbed. It will skip the H scene entirely and Onyx will be stuck in T pose until she's hit.
- Infinite jabs are way overpowered against bosses right now. Jab spam will be changed to a standing combo soon-ish (among other combat improvements).
- Splicer Runts and Thugs may float if Onyx knocks them back a lot while they are defending or de-aggro'd. They may also airwalk when knocked down.
- Charger doesn't move out of the way when he's a bystander during an H scene. He just kinda goes to sleep right in the middle of it all x_x. And Street Lord Wraxe sometimes blocks the view of the H scene with his big fat wraxe.
TIPS!
Reminder that we have enabled the debug menu for patrons to help us test! Press the ` (tilde) key to open the console. The following commands can be used.
- onepunchmode on/off (Onyx can kill anything in one hit)
- setwave # (Sets wave number to entered value)
