It is finished. I have rolled credits on TOTK after doing pretty much everything I wanted to do in the game and I could not be more impressed. Without spoiling anything, it was simply everything I've ever wanted in a video game. A grand adventure with every bit as much heart and charm as it has darker themes. The game absolutely has it's flaws, but when you swing for the fences like TOTK does, there will be a few strikes. That didn't stop this from being a grand slam.

The world is so interconnected, being at any of the 3 levels constantly gave me a reason to go visit another level. The side quests were often a little tedious, but most of the time they only added value to the world and fleshed out its inhabitants. The dungeons never disappointed even if they were a far cry from what old 3D Zelda dungeons are like. They had character, they were challenging, and the boss fights were exciting. The Gerudo dungeon was easily my fave. And the ending. OH MY GOD THE ENDING. What a final boss. What an ending sequence. Truly magical. I cried. I cried a lot. Tears of the Daryl. If it was the only game I could play for the rest of my life, I'd be perfectly happy.

NOW THEN. I think it's time I got serious about the backlog, don't you? My strategy is to go ahead and knock out some shorter games to build momentum, the little 2-3 hour gems. So to start, I beat a game called Happy Game.

Happy Game is not a happy game. But I'm glad I played it. I wish I knew exactly how to describe it. Point and click misery. That's it. Point and click misery... but it's also kind of cute? In a twisted "I want to peel my skin off and put it in the dishwasher" kind of way? Fun little game. Can recommend.

What else, gonna play Milk outside a bag of milk outside a bag of milk next, then Dear Esther, and Abzu. That'll get me started. Then onto something like Shadow of the Colossus or DMC5. No I haven't played those before. Somehow lol.

I'm also writing this before the Nintendo Direct later this morning, so God knows if that will change things lol, but I'm genuinely going to pummel this backlog into submission this summer. No more FOOKIN around. I imagined that in an Irish accent when I wrote that sentence, idk if that translated lol.

Anyways I've cooled my jets on SF6, officially a competent Cammy main and I'm winning more than I lose nowadays so mission accomplished.

Regarding this next video... my job today is to land on the topic and I have narrowed it down exactly... checks notes... none at all. Hm. That can't be right.

Yeah I really don't know what it'll be about haha, I have some thoughts. I know I mentioned previously that it's going to be that one really deep topic I've been sitting on for awhile, and it still might be! But there is a manga I want to reference in it that is getting a physical release this month and I can't decide if I want to wait for it to drop so that I can have the manga itself on camera. We'll see. Even if it doesn't get made this month, it'll certainly be next month's topic.

I do feel myself being pulled to that "playing games you hate" topic as well. Especially since SF6 has me absolutely disenfranchised every time I boot it up and yet I keep coming back lol.  Could also do the whole "farming for materials in games is weirdly relaxing" topic as well. Hrmmmmm. Options abound, my notes folder is bursting at the seams. Just need to pick. Maybe I'll post a poll for you guys later. We'll see.

Anyways, I hope you're having a great week. Happy hump day and remember, discipline is choosing what you want most over what you want now. Idk if you need to hear that this week haha, but if so, here it is. Take care y'all<3
