Question for all my patreons. Does a rapper have to write his own lyrics to be considered a GREAT? I know other genres have writers but in hiphop it is more frowned upon. Do you guys have less respect for those who have ghost writers? Having a discussion with my friend and I want to know what you guys think!

It depends. Let’s say you were in Drake’s studio session. He’s making a song and he has 2 min of good lyrics that he wrote, and he’s just playing it back thinking of something good to say and you just rapped to yourself and he hears you and says, I like that. And then pays you. This happens a lot and no one speaks on it
