Congratulations Jessie on the new home and a safe trip! This is a topic I worry about often. Two years ago, before transitioning, I spent an entire year on a road trip across the lower 48 states. It was a wonderful adventure. I'm not sure I'd feel safe doing the same today. I'm not sure I can even visit my extended family in North Carolina. My hope is that some day the "culture war" will move on and it will be no riskier for me to travel alone than for any other woman--which is still riskier than it was for me presenting as a man.

So, in solidarity Jessie, I absolutely know that drive. Not specifically, but I used to drive between Oklahoma and Michigan, one to two times a year, which is a 17 to 18 hr drive, same as yours. So PHEW! Good going! :) P.S. I don't think I'm related to John O'Sullivan, but do have an Uncle John O'Sullivan. ;)

I did! Got a two bedroom space. They're small rooms, and the place isn't terribly expensive or much bigger then a one bedroom place normally, but I appreciate the seperate spaces for my own brain.

<3 I'm also not sure if I can visit my family in New Mexico sometimes. It's scary.
