Most Commonly Used Miniature Painting Prep Tools

There are a LOT of tools in the miniature painting world. Some are helpful, some are stupid and kitchy. Here's a list of all the essential tools that I use on the majority of my miniature painting projects. Tooth brush/small brush for cleaning the model pieces.

Maybe it's because I'm old, but I like my pin vise. I also keep an old toothbrush handy for brushing off bits of plastic after sanding or scraping. Cotton swabs are a must have for me. I can use them for sopping up a shade or cleaning tight spots if I've stripped a model. I also use PVA glue for basing as well as spackle. Some wooden toothpicks come in handy when a color shaper is too soft and a dental tool too firm. Finally I have my 35X magnifying jewelers glasses. Otherwise I wouldn't be able to see anything.
