What up mini family?!

This week has been pretty low key. I've just continued to work on my Crystal Brush entry.

I've hacked up my miniature and repositioned her limbs to fit on the cross. It's a constant battle working with these super thin arms trying to get them in the right spot but we're closing in on something that looks accurate. I made the cross, added some dirt, and did some sculpting!

In other news, a company called "Deadly Print Studios" is possibly going to be sponsoring the video that's publishing tomorrow so it's super last minute. They're running a kickstarter of 3D printable battle effects like smoke plumes, muzzle flashes, explosions, etc. for miniature war games. The turn around time is pretty tight. I need to print the battle fx, shoot the spot and edit the video before tomorrow morning at 5 AM, Ahh! Here's a link to the KS: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/deadlyprintstudio/battlefx

Finally, I think I'm starting to experience what people refer to as "burnout". It's a little exacerbated by the fact that I'm not entirely interested in working on Crystal Brush right now (to be honest I'm not sure I want to do anything other than eat chips and watch LOTR) but I have to if I want to compete and I do want to compete. Sometimes you need to work on things you don't want to do to accomplish the goals you know you want to accomplish and that's where I'm at right now.

You can do it!! Burnout is a pain, and I've found personally working on a small yet satisfying goal can help rejuvenate the drive for the larger goals.

This is looking great, Scott! What did the unmodified figure look like? It's great to see some cool sponsorship support your videos. Those battlefx look pretty awesome. Will you be taking your figure to Crystal Brush? What category are you entering? Best of luck! Glad to be along for the ride.

Good advice from Emerson. Also, plan a few days rest break into your schedule. Not starting tomorrow, for a realistic point in the future, but not more than a month or two out. Planning ahead to a point where I can clear my desk and have a couple of days off really helps me to push through to get to it! Sometimes it's worth working an extra hour or two each day for a couple of weeks to allow you to take a couple of days completely off. Remember you DO need some downtime every now an then.

Here's a 3D rendering of the mini: <a href="https://static1.squarespace.com/static/54fe412ce4b0c449f7369857/t/55affbb4e4b01430186075c8/1437596601176/?format=1500w" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://static1.squarespace.com/static/54fe412ce4b0c449f7369857/t/55affbb4e4b01430186075c8/1437596601176/?format=1500w</a> The extent of the conversion is: 1. repositioning the head 2. resculpting the hair 3. Straightening out the spine 4. Shortening/repositioning the arms 5. Resculpting the bottom of the dress 6. Removing the knives from her hands As you can see, I'm in the very early stages of this, so we have lots to go!! I will be bringing this to Crystal Brush to enter into the "single figure" category.

Looks great! Can't wait to see how this turns out. Also, others above have great advice but if you need a fast pick-me-up for burnout you might wanna take a minute and watch this old classic from the wise, enigmatic Shia LaBeouf: <a href="https://youtu.be/ZXsQAXx_ao0" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://youtu.be/ZXsQAXx_ao0</a>

“Sometimes you need to work on things you don't want to do to accomplish the goals you know you want to accomplish” What an adult!

He's quite angry at us for not doing it. Now I'm depressed, not only have I not achieved my goals, but that dickhead yelled at me too.
