Nude Byte Extras: December 2023 (Patreon)

For this month, I'll feature an NPC that was revised from a previous attempt: Greasica

In Nude Byte, there's a theme for all NPCs: Each of them are bootlegs of existing characters with a trait that's altered.

Greasica, (once called Eastica during the early development of the game) is now a grease-monkey version of Pacifica from Gravity Falls.

There's nothing much to say about her. Let me think of what to say...
A bit of a behind-the-scenes, she's meant to have a Southerner accent. Surprisingly, this proved difficult for me and her assigned writer to make her speak like one consistently. We sometimes make the mistake of giving her a New Yorker accent. I just later figured out they're very different, so I had to go through her dialogues again from the start. (She has to say "Ya'll", not "Youse"!)

There aren't many NPCs to share in the next few months. I shared almost all NPCs at this point.
(Well, technically, there are two more left. The only two l***s that aren't even sexy or hot.)
I might start sharing black-and-white sketches of unused designs instead in the future, but I'm not sure if those are interesting.

Or maybe some screenshots of the progress of the game that aren't even interesting. UI menus, anyone? Is anyone interested in seeing a bunch of boring buttons?
Seriously, it's taking me weeks just to make UI menus work without any bugs in them. It's not really the visuals that's hard, it's their functions where I have to make sure players unlock things they worked hard for. Example: We can't have players pay 1,000,000 money to unlock the next rank, only for the game to bug out and say it's still locked. (Even I'll get mad if that happens to me) So I have to do extensive tests to make sure that'll never happen. (And sadly, I bet there will still be a few bugs that'll still happen. Ugh.)

Anyway, enough ranting! Let me share some fake advertisements I made instead:

Well, here's a dancing Ciella that I wasn't able to put in the game:

(She thinks she's Mabel. She'll never be Mabel. Not even Callie. She's just a very jolly bootleg.)

I animated that dance when she wasn't 3D back then. But when I finally made her 3D model, I replaced that dance with 3D. (You can check it yourself by playing the Random Run and throwing a Decoy bomb.)
