CW: Emotive skull (it talks! Just not in this picture)

I've drawn Kari once before, in particular her clothing, which was more complex than most any other character I've drawn...But I didn't think that was good enough to show her off! I wanted to really show off her form, not to mention her colors and tails, so I got this idea in mind. The wolfess standing over the viewer, tails fanning out to block the sun behind her...Maybe at the beach and she's blocking their sun? Who knows, but she's probably pretty hungry.

I learned a lot while working on this, in both pose layout and coloring, and (as you can see), I really leaned into the shading on this one. I wanted the only light source to be behind her, filtering through the gaps in her tails, and I think I mostly achieved that? If there was one thing I'd do to improve this, I'd have the tails more "transparent" around the edges to show the light leaking through the less fur dense areas of them...But that would've complicated the shading immensely, so... *shrugs* XD

...I think I'm improving with my color work? I dunno. XD

OH DEAR

Caudle

Ooops, I forgot, enter automatically posts the comment rather than tabbing down, anyway this is LOVELY, great sense of tail, fluff and a light danger element with the skull, fantastic!
